Goodness, I haven't posted an entry in a long time. I feel a bit bad, because I haven't even posted recent dj lists or any music stories. I still have to tell you all about she wants revenge and alkaline trio/against me shows. This week, I am going to see INXS...I'll talk more on that in a few moments.
As for my life, last weekend was my little sister's senior prom. My best friend was her date to the prom, which was cool and cute. Nathan, though he's gay, would make one hell of a date because he can dance. Before they went to prom, my parents and all of us went out for dinner at this local italian resturaunt. We got pizzas and all sorts of good stuff. I have to laugh though, I got tiramisu for dessert and it was rather drunken...it had too much booze for my taste. Let's say my dad ate it later at home and said "this stuff will give you a buzz." Sarah's prom dress was beautiful. It was this prince white, classy dressy. Nathan wore this black suite. His boyfriend (who is this rich contractor) showed up at the house with a LIMO!!! Sarah was like "omg omg omg!" it totally made her day. They left for the dance and I guess it went well. I spent my time at home, feeling bored and watched the blue collar comedy tour with my parents. it was on comedy central.
Around 11:30 pm, my sister got home and decided that me and her should go to after prom. It's weird being 20 and hanging out with my sister and not knowing anyone else there, which made me realize that even though after proms are the awesome, they aren't the same without your classmates and friends. Anyways, sarah and i chowed down on pizza and all sorts of good junk food. We played black jack, bingo and dice! yes Dice! Our winnings of the evening were 11 dollars in cold hard cash and about 20 plastic colorful cups which will work great for my apartment and her dorm room next year haha. Also, sarah and i got a picture taken for those key chain scopes and after we did that, we played around on a moon bounce for a bit. We went home around 3:30 am and pretty much crashed. All and all, last weekend was fun, interesting and alright.
As for my week, it has been rather blurry. Today, however, was really fun. It was maryland day, which means a huge festival here at my school. I ended up hanging out with my friend jess (who will be my flatmate next year) and her mom. I did get a piece of the hugeeee strawberry shortcake. It was rather interesting, yet surprisingly tastee. I walked around campus and checked out some exhibits and got some free ice cream! (UMD Dairy Ice cream is pure bliss) I also went to the football stadium and watched the last football scrimage of the spring. I can't wait for next season, granted the terps are actually good. However, I am really looking forward to UMD vs. WVU...gotta love them mountaineers! anyways, today was beautiful and decent.
School is almost over, which freaks me out. I am scared that I am wasting my time chasing a dream, but I really hope I will come out alright. I hope that I will pass all my classes in good standing. As for classes, I am just trying to stay focus and work my ass off! Pray for me people, please!
I will admit though, next year feels promising. I mean I got a good job that will carry over to next year and I am recieving a 3,000 dollar grant for my tuition, which is nice. (thank you to the state of maryland!) and so far, the people who i will be living with next year seem to be pretty rad too. Also, I might be doing a fellows program in public affairs and leadership, which would be seriously awesome!
Now about INXS... I interviewed Kirk Pengilly yesterday afternoon, which was pretty fucking awesome. The unfortunate thing is that barely any of the interview recorded because I couldn't get a speaker phone to work. I think I'll be buying a speaker phone for the diamondback damnit! It'll be my christmas gift to them. I was pretty upset about the interview not recording well to tape. I am hoping to write a great article on them though. So tuesday night, I am going to see them. Why? because in 1997, I was suppose to see them live and even though Michael Hutchence is no longer here, this new incarnation is like a tribute of sorts. The publicist couldn't give me free tickets (which kinda sucks) but I did get a photo pass! I will probably buy the cheapest seat I can get to enjoy the rest of the show. I mean first three songs, i'll be right up against the stage seeing them, which is always nice to think of and then the rest of the time, I can just party in the nose bleed section of the DAR Constitution hall! haha. As for Mr. Pengilly, He was very very awesome. Hopefully, I will get this story written and published. (Wish me luck!)
and now my final remarks... Playlists... I haven't posted any recently and I apologize for that. I will probably post the ones you didn't get to see very soon. Just all in one entry or something! With all of this in mind, I have laundry to do and homework to fight about with.
