another random friday
the past three days have been a very awkward blur. between missing (all of my) classes and oversleeping, i can't help but feel like a screw-up. i'm hoping this weekend to get caught up on my work and studies. i have 2 papers to work on and a homework assignment and 2 exams to study for. action packed weekend, i tell you. oh also, i have 2 movies that i have to go see. the first is dr. strangelove and the second is good night and good luck. the problem with good night and good luck is that it's not playing anywhere near home, so i have to come back early sunday night to catch it in dc. i just hope i can do all this and be able to attend the autumn glory festival tomorrow. i figure if anything, i'll skip the festival and do work and just enjoy being home.
last night, i was asked at the last minute to cover a dj slot at wmuc. i had fun djing, but i'm not going to lie, it was a bit nervewracking. i thought first of all, no one was listening (well maybe that was a good thing), because i didn't get any calls for requests. second, i kept on messing up either by saying i was going to play one band and played something else or i picked the wrong track on a cd and had to quickly change it. so yeah that was frustrating!!!!!! but if you really want to hear it, let me know. i can email the digital archive of my air time. it's 2 hour long mp3. or you can go onto here to get the mp3 or listen to it online!

so today, i overslept! yay me. i wasn't happy about that because i wanted to work on my paper, which is now overdue. anyways, i had an interview to do at the 930 club. not for music purposes but for a class project (it was for my communications class). i met with andi coultere who is one of the main people for 930 club's pr and marketing. she was sooo cool and very nice. if i could ever get an internship at the club, i hope to work with her. i have to say that being at the 930 club at 12 pm on a friday afternoon was quite a trip.
i had a pleasant trip back to college park from being in dc. i have to laugh though, i'm sitting in the way back of the train, behind this one guy. he gets up and off at his stop. i get up and take his seat. i sit down to discover he left his bag of crabs on the train. so here i am sitting beside this huge bag of steamed crabs. i'm thinking "wtf!" and start to feel sorry for the guy. i knew he wouldn't get them back. it would be impossible, right? i sat there for the rest of the ride, debating on what to do with the crabs. they smelled soo good too. so of course, being the weirdo i am, i took the bag back to campus with me. they're now sitting in the refridgerator. i'm going to have my parents take a look at them when they come to pick me up. i'm guessing either 1. they're bad crabs or 2.they're perfectly good crabs and i have just got me a free batch of yummy steamed with old bay crabs. i guess we'll just have to wait and see! but i just love how crazy my life gets. such randomness! last friday, it was making out with my friend. this friday, it's getting free crabs on the metro haha.
alright, i'm done for now. i'll probably update sometime on monday or tuesday. everyone have a great weekend. and enjoy the fall weather! and remember, tuesday is when the new depeche mode album comes out!!!
