So it took some digging around on my part, but I discovered that sending fic to my Kindle (or Kindle app on my Android) was a whole lot easier than I thought it'd be. I downloaded what I eventually found to be an unnecessary converting program, which can be easily uninstalled, so no harm done there. But I essentially found that mobi files can be read by Kindle. I also happily discovered the wonderful Send to Kindle for PC program through Amazon. Whenever I right click a given file, the option to 'send to Kindle' appears. And so I tried it out. I downloaded a mobi file from AO3, and sent it to my Kindle.
It looks just like I'm reading the Kindle edition of the fanfic! Perfect formatting and everything! This is the answer to all my prayers!
Well, that's an exaggeration, but OMG KINDLE I LOVE YOU ASDFG
Now I can finally start downloading my bookmarked fic as mobi files and remove them from Firefox. I'll put them all in a Fanfic folder in my Documents and then upload them to my Kindle, which is only a right click away.
"But what about fics on LJ or FF or even AFF? They don't offer the downloading of fic!" you thought after that.
Fear not, for there is a website called FLAG (flagfic.com) that formats fic from any website into a mobi file! Other extension are available as well, such as PDF and epub, which I don't need but is doubtlessly nice for other people. All I need to do is enter the url and choose the format I want and WHAMMO! Perfectly formatted fic for my reading pleasure!
I see a happy summer filled with fanfic ahead of me.
