disclaimer: What are the chances that a girl like me and a StS manga/anime/set of dubious movies belong together? Not good. As good as one out of a billion. Wait, that would mean there is a chance, and no: StS belongs to Kurumada and Toei, so no chances. Ours is an impossible relationship. *sigh*

watch the harp, I hear DM has no ear for music, and no tolerance either. Asuranceturix (known as Cacofonix in some other places) would have had a very short career in Sanctuary. Damn, now I feel like reading Asterix&Obelix

On the other side, thanks for reminding me I wanted to read the article on wikipedia about it.
... and I just got the best mental image of DM smashing the harp into Asuranceturix' head. Talk about a crossover that breaks my brain.

Mime and Asuracenturix start a celtic-rock band!
And I want to say Fenrir and Ideafix would become great friends :)

*proudly* I've done it! Well, just for one tiny episode, but still.
And once we had an impromptu "The village of the Gauls vs StS dudes" RPG in Stayka's chat. Can't remember all details now, but at some point Siren Sorrento was thrown onto Unhygienix's stalls, along with other stinky fish. >:-)
Dude, Cacofonix and Mime getting together to make muzik? You do know it's called genocide, don't you?

*starry eyes*
Would you happen to have a copy of that? As in, a copy that you could send... I don't know... to Ghaidin *cough* for example *coughcough*
Unhygienix would have probably sprinkled Sorrento with water for "freshness" and sell him as recent catch
Mime would be Cacofonix's dream! For once he wouldn't be the one tied up forced out of the party! Imagine his happiness at encountering a captive (literally!) audience :)
I'm starting to wonder whether Kurumada copied from Goscinny... Dohko is obviously a version of Geriatrix and Athena is just a glorified version of Impedimenta *nods*

As for crossover, it's in one of Zeus Saga chapters, here I believe:

My first answer to that was "dunno... got the name straight from French (though there it was spelled "Assurancetourix")
But curious kitty googled around a bit and now is happy to know: Name in French was chosen so that it'd sound like "assurance tout risque" o "assurance tous risques" (insurance against all risks)
According to meh source (wiki in Spanish here) in some Spanish editions his name was chance to Aseguracenturix, so that it'd be closer to the original meaning. Never saw it like that, and it wouldn't have helped a bit if I had.
So there.
Cacofonix would have made way more sense.
While I was at it, I also searched Abraracúrcix. (Known sometimes as Abrazopartidix it seems. Who read all those other editions, anyway?) Anyhow, from "à bras raccourcis " ... at broken arm? Idoubt the expression exists in English, maybe a good translation would be "with bare fists"Now I feel deep urges to read about them brave gauls and the one little village that never ( ... )
