Montana

I just got back from Montana. What a trip.

I am completely sold on taking the train to places whenever possible. Beautiful scenery, relaxing, much more luxurious and cheaper than a plane. Food was expensive, though.

Missoula is a beautiful place, and I wouldn't mind living there if I wanted to escape from the world. It's big enough to be somewhat city-ish, but not quite big enough for me. I don't think I would find a job other than working at a coffee shop or retail or something like that. As beautiful as the town is, I wouldn't want to do that for the rest of my life.

John told me it was in the 90s and sunny, but as soon as we got there it started raining. Not constantly, there was still plenty of sun, but every day it rained a little more. It prevented us from floating down the river.

There are a lot of potheads in Missoula. Pot and frolf(frisbee golf) are the two major activities that everyone does.

One problem with the trains: Amtrak has only one train a day going west, and one going east. The eastbound train was scheduled at around 7:30 in the morning, and the closest train depot is 3 hours away in Whitefish. Nate and John got in a bit of a nap and got up at 3am, but Becky and I determined it would be simpler to just stay up until 3.

Today was the first shower I've had in three days.
