A good night.

Ok so things have been pretty good. Thursday wasn't to great. But it showed some things.

Carmalot. People upset me on this subject. I can picture a couple people there who say they play magic. No, they don't play magic. They pose. They are thus, poseurs. They know to put land down, to tap mana, and to attack. They understand little aside from the basics. They do not support the store, and they could care less about it or the game.

These people are sad. They are the vagrants who will go from place to place in life, never contributing and always eroding away onto whatever life forms they latch upon. I've compared them to barnacles :D

The tournements at carmalot serve a few purposes. For the most part, its to support the store. They offer a service by a meeting place where you can throw it down MTG style, and half the people there just use it. I'm not saying, go blow all your money there, but please look at it this way.

- You like to play, otherwise you wouldn't be there. Unless you're harvesting the affection of two dozen guys. If thats the case, please, go to the corner :D
- In the tourneys which cost money, you will always get your moneys worth of cards, and they will be at a discount. I know people love to say they don't have 10-20 dollars. That is always a lie. Whether you blew it at the movies or at the mall, or on gas to make a useless trip, 10-20 dollars over a course of 2 months, is hardly a challenge to earn. One could put a dollar a day in a box and skip the weekends, ya'd still have enough.
- You get prizes from the tournements. No one has a major advantage, its all pretty random and even. Good cards can help but a good play ability is even better.
- It supports the store. It increases community growth. It really makes for a good time.

Thanks to the Five people who brought money to the Booster Draft, and thanks to the other three who came anyways. These are the players we need, and they are some of the best we have.

It was the first time I officially ran the store while Todd had a lodge meeting. Awesome :D I got to take money and the register, I answered the phone, and closed up :D Even if it were for 3-4 hours, it was great. And hopefully I'll get to do it more often.

Friday was, well, odd. I worked all day. While I worked, I called people for my party Saturday.
The list is as followed-

John
Amanda
Laura
Heidi
Lizz
Jason
Dane
Will
John L
Kevin
Joel
Andrew
Robert
Erica
Josh
Andy

And We'll see who all shows up. So I'm calling people and whatnot, and I finally get home. I have to deal with the nextel billing, my parents are confused about it and so, long story short, we all end up screaming at each other and I've got some serious rage going on. I leave and meet up with Will and Jason at Big boys, we eat, and walk to Burger King to see Kevin. Bam, Kevin is getting off work right in time. and Who walks in? John. Wow, conincidense(sp). We decide to go bowling.

Will leaves, hes not social. Dur. Kevin goes to change, John goes to Amandas to drop her dogs off... And me and Jason decide to go to Pamida. I pull in next to a red car. A black guy (no signifance here, just for visualization) asks if we know the area. We get talking, His name is Jeff. He is from Frankenmuth, and he is headed to Toronto to see his girl friend. He pulled in to get some chips for the drive, and his battery died. Now we get him a jump and we all go in to get jumper cables. On my way in, I bump into Garret Haynes and Scott Doutry from Almont Highschool. Man I ain't seen em in a while, so we talk and bullshit and we go in, right as Jeff walks out with Jumper cables. Cool, we shake hands, thank each other and we walk around the store.

We were leaving when I see Crystal from Venture. And we talk, shes pregnant, neato I guess, and shes lookin for a job. We talk a bit more and say good bye, and leave. Theres Jeff, car dead once more. So we get him a jump, and the car goes about, 25 feet, before dyeing. Ugh, ok, we need to get it to auto zone. One last jump and a final hurrah, we follow him with out flashers on. It miraculously makes it and as we pull in, Robert gives me a call.

I haven't spoke to him in 4 months, but he wants to hang out. We're going bowling I say, and he says sure :D So ok cool, we say good bye to Jeff who thanks us again and off we go. We hit a couple alleys and end up at Hideaway. Robs parents had car troubles on 69 in Lapeer, so he couldn't make it, but it didn't stop Me, John, Kevin, Amanda, Jason, and Andrew from bowling. It was great fun, we were cheering and laughing and singing and Jason won two games, I won the last :D I really think the music helps, not because of well, its music, but because it helps me focus. Five good songs were on, and I got five strikes, focus :D I got a call from Jeff, I had given him my cell number in case he needed anything, and he said it was the battery, and he was on his way with a new one, to canada. I wished him luck and told em to get his girl, and he thanked me. No problem man.

We all go to Burger King, Steve hooks us all up with free food, I can't thank 'em enough. I invited him out but hes got to work, I'd like to party with 'em one of these days. So we all leave around 1 am and head home. But we'll all meet again tonight, aside the glow of a bonfire. I gotta go home and get ready, probably cut and stack wood, and maybe fashion some form of a table.

So there it goes. An odd night, seeing old friends, helping strangers, and just having fun. I slept well, and woke up right on time this morning. And my shifts almost over, like this post.

April 29th, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. People, the book series redefined Science Fiction, it was amazing. A short read, and hilarious, you will look at life in a new perspective, or at least, with a lighter view. I recommend it to everyone, and perhaps the movie can issue some tribute to the legacy which was created by Douglas Adams.
