PART 9

May 16th

Prom is on June 2nd. That’s less than a month away! Oh my god, I am so excited.

May 20th

Anthony agreed to let me buy our ties, so I’m heading off to the mall today. I don’t know what colour to get the ties in. Blue? Green? Purple? I think purple would be nice.

May 21st

I did end up buying purple ties. My tie is sort of lavender-y with white stripes, and Anthony’s is a pin-striped dark purple, and I made sure that they match.

“IAN!” I heard my mom call from downstairs.

I rolled my eyes and sighed. “What?!” I screamed, shutting my journal closed.

No response.

“WHAT!?” I shouted louder, getting up out of my chair.

“Come downstairs!” She yelled back.

I groaned, but obediently made my way down the stairs. I smiled at the sight of my grandparents sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace, a large dress bag sitting beside them.

“Hi there, sweetie,” My grandma creaked, standing her weak body up to hug me.

“Hi grandma,” I replied, holding her fragile body, helping her sit back down.

I bent down and gave my grandfather a hug.

“Grandma and grandpa brought something for you,” My mom said, holding up the dress bag.

“What is it?” I asked, taking hold of the bag.

“Go try it on!” My grandma squealed from the couch, her hand shaking as she pointed at me.

“Sure,” I nodded, and trotted off to my room.

I slipped the bag off of the clothing inside, shocked at the sight. It was a suit. My suit for prom. It was perfect! It was a nice light grey with a silvery sheen. I ran to get the new bought tie from my computer table and set it against the suit. It really did match. Anthony is going to really like this. I slipped off my jeans and grabbed the pants, carefully pulling them on. I did the zipper and buttons at the top. I looked at myself in the mirror, and damn. I looked good in them. They were a little tight, but I guess that’s the style. Wow. My butt looked really cute. Anthony is going to love this! I threw the suit top over my t-shirt and buttoned the two buttons in the front. The suit was a perfect fit. Now, I really can’t wait for prom. I checked myself in the mirror, before heading back downstairs.

“Ian!” My mother cried, covering her mouth with her hands.

“You don’t like it?” I said, shocked. I thought that it looked quite nice. Now I’m disappointed.

“No! It’s perfect!”

“You think so!?” I smiled, doing a little turn.

“Ian. You look flawless,” My grandma complimented, giving me a shaky hug. “Anthony is going to pop a boner when he sees you,”
“GRANDMA!” My mom and I yelled, shocked at her response. Dirty old lady. Wait? How did she know anything about Anthony? I hadn’t told her.

“How do you know about Anthony?” I asked, confused.

“Blame it on your mother,” Grandpa smirked, getting up from the fluff couch. “She’s told us everything,”

I glared at her. She shrugged, and helped my grandma sit back down.

“We’re proud of you, Ian,” Grandpa said, giving me a pat on my back.

“Thank you,” I whispered, giving him a long hug.

It means so much to me to have such a supportive family. I can’t even image what Anthony must be going through.

“I’m going to go change,” I muttered, running silently back to my room. I switched back into my everyday clothing, and sat back down at my computer desk and texted Anthony.

Got my suit. :) Wanna see it?

His reply came seconds later.

Keep it a surprise. im getting mine tomorrow. dads buying it for me.

I wonder if his dad is going to regret buying Anthony the suit after he sees his date.

Ok. Come over tomorrow??

of course :)

May 22nd

“Are you sure you don’t want to see it?” I pleaded, gesturing to my closet.

“I’m sure. I want to be surprised when I see you. I’ve planned this whole thing out,” Anthony said, plopping down onto my bed, leaning against my wall. He gently patted his thighs and smiled seductively at me. I climbed over his legs and straddled his hips.
“Let’s hear your little plan,” I whispered, rubbing my nose tip with his.

“I’m going to be downstairs, introducing myself to your grandparents,”

He paused, grinning at me again. I nodded for him to continue.

“Then you’ll walk down your stairs in your suit, looking as hot and sexy as always,”

“Then you’ll turn around, and flash that angelic smile,” I continued for him, inching my lips closer to his.

“I’ll walk over to you, and pull you in by the waist,”

“My mom will take some more embarrassing photos,” I interjected. “And my grandma thinks that you’ll pop a boner,”

Anthony laughed before continuing. “I can’t wait to meet your grandma! Ha-ha. Then I’ll kiss your forehead, and we’ll pose for pictures,”

“How romantic,” I commented, pecking him on the lips.

“Very,” He sighed, parting his lips.

His tongue traced the edge of my cold lips, before exploring the inside of my mouth, outlining my teeth. His hands moved down my back to grab my ass.

“What is it with you and butts?” I muttered against Anthony’s lips, giggling.

“I like yours,” He smiled, backing his face away.

He stared at me for a moment, gently smiling and blinking slowly.

“What?” I asked, blushing under his piercing regard.

“I was just thinking,” He replied slowly, not moving his stare away.

“About what?”

“About our relationship after high school. Let’s get out of Carmichael. Let’s move in together. Like Sacramento, or something. Like what we were talking about before,” Anthony suggested, raising his eyebrows questioningly.

“Sure,” I replied, “Sacramento sounds good. But I have to tell my mom,”

“Yeah, we’ll tell her. I doubt my dad will care. He’s going to probably kick me out of the house after prom anyways,”

I sighed. It was sad, but true. “Let’s tell my mom now. She’s in a good mood today,”

Anthony laughed and helped me off the bed. He took my hand and smiled, as we walked downstairs.
“Mom!” I called into the kitchen over the sound of clanking dishes.

She came out a moment later, wiping her hands with a cloth.

“Can we talk to you for a second?” I asked, calling her over to the couches. Anthony and I sat on the loveseat, still holding hands.

My mom sat across from us on the armchair, leaning in curiously. “What is it, boys?”

“I know this is a big deal, and it may be too early for you,” I started explaining. My mom gave me a concerned squint, but urging me to carry on speaking.

“But it’s very important to Anthony and me,” I continued, nodding at Anthony.

“Ian and I want to move in together,” Anthony said, squeezing his grip on my hand.

My mom stared at us in shock, her mouth hanging open. “Don’t you boys this it’s a bit early? I mean, you only started dating a few months ago,”

“We just want to get out of Carmichael. Besides, you knew dad 10 months before you got married. We’re not getting married yet. We’re just moving in together!” I chattered. I felt my blood pressure slowly rising, as I got more hyper.

“Okay, Ian, calm down,” My mother said, shifting awkwardly in her seat. “You do have a point. Where were you thinking of moving?”
“Sacramento,” Anthony answered, moving in closer to me.

“Okay. That’s not too far away. House or apartment?”

“We haven’t really thought it through that much yet, mom,” I interrupted.

“Okay,” My mom nodded, starting a very awkward silence.

“Look at the time!” Anthony chuckled, checking his phone, “I better get home before my dad starts asking questions,”
“Please don’t go,” I mumbled, giving Anthony a pleading look.

“I have to. I’ll see you tomorrow anyways,” Anthony smiled, standing up from the couch, leaving a cold, empty space beside me. “Thank you Mrs. Hecox,” Anthony acknowledged, shaking my mother’s hand.

I walked Anthony to the door, and gave him a quick kiss, not wanting to make it too awkward for my mom, who was staring at us.

“I’ll see you,” Anthony grinned, squeezing my hand again.

“Bye,” I whispered, watching him hop into his car and drive away. I shut the door and locked it, returning to the living room couch with my mother.

“Are you sure you want to move in with him?” She asked, placing her hand gently on my knee.

“I’m sure,” I nodded, smiling at her. “I think he’s the one,”

“I’m happy if you’re happy,” She beamed, kissing my temple. “My baby boy is so grown up now. Falling in love, graduating high school, moving out,” She sighed, dropping her head against my shoulder. “I still remember your first birthday,”

“Mom!” I complained, suddenly standing up. I hate it when she brings up my youth. She always cries.

“You’ll see how I feel one day, when you have kids of your own!” She scolded, wiping a tear away from under her eye.

“Yeah, yeah.” I groaned. I have heard that sentence too many times before, “I’m going to my room. Good night, mom,” I slowly climbed the steps, dragging my feet along the way. It seemed like a 10 hour walk to my room through my cold hallway. I shut my door, and slipped my jeans and t-shirt off, leaving them crumpled on my messy floor. I yanked my pyjama shirt from under my pillows and threw it on, hopping under my blanket, inhaling the scent of Anthony’s new cologne that he left. I fell asleep, cradling thoughts and dreams of Anthony in my mind.

I heard my phone vibrate loudly on my nightstand and I groggily reached over to grab it. What time is it? It said 12:43 on the bright screen. It also says that I had a new text message from Anthony.

good night baby <3 I love you.

I absolutely loved these little messages of his. Even if they did wake me up.

night. <3

I barely texted him back, my fingers still asleep. It seems my hands were too since I dropped my phone on my face. Ouch.

May 30th

“It seems that there’s a little rumor about me spreading around school,” Anthony smiled, straddling my hips.

“What’s that?” I joked, pulling his chest onto mine.

“Well, since I’m no longer dating Jessica, everyone is curious as to who I am going to prom with. I’ve heard crazy things. Like, that I have a girlfriend coming from Brazil. I even heard one that I’m taking my cousin to prom. And everyone’s been asking me about it too.

“You don’t say,” I laughed. People can come up with such crazy and silly things. “What do you say to them?”

“I say that I’m bringing a mystery guest, and that they’re just going to have to wait and see,”

“Smart answer,” I smirk, kissing him on the lips.
