Crashed Harddrive, Leopard and ...
So, not to long ago, my harddrive on my powerbook crashed and I don't mean bad sectors. I mean it was crispy dead. No recovery possible. Completely and totally fraked. So, lost lots of not backed up stuff (me, who is always harping on backing up important stuff... ::hangs head in shame::)
Of course, the most painful and yet probably best part of it was the multitude of un-beta'd chapters I had for an HP story I have been writing since the beginning of time (or so it seems). Bad cause thats a lot of work down the drain. Good cause I really think the reason the story has been taking so long to write was those chapters and where the story was going vs. where my muse wanted to go, etc. Now, maybe I can go back to basics and let the story tell itself. Well, see.
Good news, though. Got Leopard for my powerbook and it has a built in RSS reader in the email program, so I no longer have to depend on actually going to my journal to read my Friends posts, I can drag you all right into my inbox. Maybe now I will remember to be social more often... hmmm... Of course, I might just set another record for how long I can ramble about nothing in a post and then disappear again.
Well, off to sleep. Its election day tomorrow and that means work for me... Not look forward t0 2008... 2009, yes (eh gads.. 2009! It can't be that close to the end of the decade yet, can it? Wasn't it just Scapercon 2000?)
