14) Uryuu/Orihime (Bleach)
1.) Why do you dislike #11 so much? (Wolfwood/Vash)
I guess I don't really hate them, I just never saw the appeal. It's surprising, since I'm often drawn to the type of relationship like theirs where they're just friends on the show, but they're so easily slashable it's irresistable. But as I watched the series, I never felt like I wanted to see them get together. In fact, I found that I was drawn to almost everything except this pairing and Knives/Legato (hell, I'm even interested in nonsensical stuff like Knives/Meryl). I guess the pairing started annoying me because it would pop up EVERYWHERE when I was looking for other pairings (i.e., I'd read Knives/Vash fics and there was almost always some mention of Vash having slept with Wolfwood, as well). So I started disliking it because it was almost unavoidable.
2.) Who is someone you know that ships #13? (Mitsuomi/Maya)
I don't really know anyone else who's seen Tenjou Tenge, so I don't know if I know anyone who likes this pairing. I looked for some fics on the Internet shortly after I finished watching the series, but Shin/Maya seemed to be the most common pairing I encountered. I found Mitsuomi/Maya intriguing because it seemed like they cared about each other, but the whole thing with Shin being a crazy mofo messed things up, so they didn't have much of a chance to be together. I was rooting for them to work things out as the series went on, but that didn't happen (and at the end, it seems like he's going to die soon). I guess I could read the manga to see if things turn out differently there, but I really don't want to go seek out the censored American version, and I don't think I'm interested enough in the series to buy it all in Japanese.
3.) What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3? (Knives/Vash)
My ideal scenario is pretty much what I wrote in my fanfic
Compromise. I'm not sure that any sort of happy ending is really possible, though. I guess the best I could hope for from the anime or manga canon is that they don't end up killing each other ^_^;; The anime leaves things open ended, and I'm not caught up on the manga currently, so I'll have to wait and find out.
4.) Which is your favorite episode for #1? Try to pick just one. (Vegeta/Bulma)
Since Dragonball isn't very heavy on romance, it's not like they have a whole lot of relationshippy stuff for these two. But the one episode that DID kind of show a pre-romance forming was Episode #124, where Vegeta is training for the Android's arrival and Bulma's all concerned about him hurting himself. Other than that, they don't really have any episodes to themselves, mainly just funny little scenes (like when she has him wear the pink Bad Man shirt ^_^)
5.) How long have you been following couple #6? (Sawyer/Kate)
It's actually the newest ship on the above list. For the first season of Lost, I didn't see it the first time it aired, I started watching it when they began showing repeats of it from the beginning sometime in Spring 2005. My Sawyer/Kate love started when they shared that hot kiss while she was trying to get some information from him (which, AFTER she kissed him, he revealed he didn't know ^o^) So about 2 years....that may seem long, but it's nothing compared to some of my other ships (Kunzite/Zoisite is going on 11 years o_O)
6.) What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring? (Haruka/Michiru)
I think the main reason I got into them was because at the time (we're talking around 1997-98 or so) they were the "cool" pairing to like. The S season hadn't yet been released in America, so they were more mysterious than pairings involving characters widely known from the early TV episodes. Only people who were l33t enough to have the fansubs knew who they were, so their appeal was heightened by their exclusivity. So I did read a lot of fics about their relationship for awhile (honestly speaking, back then when I was 14 and starting to look for hentai fics, a lot of them happened to involve Haruka and Michiru, so it wasn't always that I was seeking out the relationship, I was seeking out lemon fics ^_^;;) As I watched more and more of the series, though, I found that they weren't really up there in my top list of favorite characters, so my interest in their relationship faded.
7.) Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4? (Eiri/Shuuichi or Wolfram/Yuuri)
Ooh, tough choice. I love both of these pairings, but in the end I'll have to go with the one that's canon and choose Eiri/Shuuichi. Wolfram and Yuuri are so cute, but I can't fool myself into believing that Yuuri is actually in love with Wolfram, so canonically speaking I don't think they would end up happy since it's so one sided. Eiri/Shuuichi seems one sided for a while, as well, but I think as the series goes on Eiri realizes how much he cares for Shuuichi, and even if he can't show it properly I think they'll turn out OK.
8.) You have the power to make one ship non existent. Choose from #10 or #12. (Heero/Relena or Jack/Kate)
Wow, I'm so annoyed by both of these I don't know where to begin. Heero/Relena bugs me because I hate Relena with a passion, and I think it's creepy the way she stalks Heero all over the world. And the scene with them near the end of the TV series where Heero is giving her that creepy smile....it's like they had to force him out of character to even make the pairing believable. Give me Heero/Duo any day ^_^ (I made a page several years ago where I talk about
Gundam Wing character relationships....it's very fangirly ^_^;;)
As for Jack/Kate....I'm so annoyed by the "main male character and main female character must fall in love" mentality (I could also apply this to Heero/Relena). I just feel no passion between the characters....like Heero/Relena, it just feels forced when they're together. The Sawyer/Kate scenes have so much chemistry, and I'm kinda pissed by the recent episode where Kate got all angsty about Jack hanging out with Juliet and so she went off to sleep with Sawyer. Sawyer really loves her, but she seems to be using him until she can win Jack back. And the creators of the show have said in interviews that they consider Jack and Kate to be "the ultimate relationship", so if their characters survive the series, it's already been pretty much decided that they'll end up together.
So, in summary, I'm going to say that I choose to make Jack/Kate non-exsistent because it's exsistence is affecting my enjoyment of a ship I do like, while Heero/Relena has no effect on my enjoyment of Heero/Duo because the relationship isn't shoved in our faces so much.
9.) What interests you about #14? (Uryuu/Orihime)
Since I'm watching Bleach on Adult Swim, I haven't seen too much of the series yet (up to around #30, while I believe the series is up to #120 or so?) I'm currently watching the part where they're all running around the Soul Society trying to rescue Rukia, and these two ended up traveling around together, and it got me a little curious. There's some cute little interactions and stuff between them, so I started thinking that they might make a good couple. I haven't looked for fics or anything, since I'm so far behind in the series that I don't want to encounter spoilers, so I have no idea if anything actually happens between them, but for now I'm just fine being amused by my own thoughts ^_^
10.) When did you stop liking #7? (James/Jessie)
Well, I was never super into Pokemon, but I did find this pairing cute (and sorry for my use of the dub names, I never watched the show in Japanese, just the TV dub). I remember one episode that kind of went into their past that got me interested in the pairing, but after awhile I stopped watching Pokemon, so my interest in the pairing kind of fizzled. When was that? I can't even remember, maybe 2000 or 2001? It's been awhile.
11.) Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show? (Vash/Meryl)
Not at all, the reason I stopped being interested in Vash/Meryl is because as I watched more of Trigun I simply became more interested in other pairings (mainly Knives/Vash). At the beginning of the series I thought they were cute together, but then as more characters started coming along my preferences shifted.
12.) What's a song that reminds you of #5? (Kunzite/Zoisite)
Hmmm, I've never really thought about it....I'll use a cop out answer and go with The Killers "Somebody Told Me" because Zoisite is "a boyfriend who looks like a girlfriend" :P And I guess the line "heaven ain't close in a place like this" works since they live in the Dark Kingdom. Oh! AND the song mentions moonlight, which means it's appropriate for Sailormoon! See, my thoughtless answer turned out to be pretty damn fitting ;P
13.) Which of these ships do you love the most?
I guess I'm going to go with Vegeta/Bulma. It's hard to judge one ship versus another since I like different things about each, but I'd have to say this is one of the most enduring ones. I think it's appealing because it's so unexpected. Bulma and Yamcha are together for so long, everyone seems to assume they'll get married, but then Trunks comes from the future and says that he's the love child of Bulma and Vegeta. It's like, WTF? So I became intrigued with their relationship from the time I first heard about it. Also, Vegeta is my favorite anime character, so anything involving him had my interest right away ^_^ The way the relationship evolves is interesting in that at first he doesn't give a damn about Bulma and Trunks, but by the time the Buu saga comes around he's obviously changed his mind (that hug he gives Trunks before sacrificing himself *sob*). It adds some more depth to his character, and that's probably one of the reasons I adore it so much. I've actually recently started to write the Vegeta/Bulma fanfic I've been planning for many years, so this pairing is on my mind more than usual lately.
14.) Which do you dislike the most?
As I said in my previous answer about which one I'd like to not exist, I'm going to go with Jack/Kate, for the same reasons listed above.
15.) If you could have any of these two pairings double date, who would it be?
Vegeta/Bulma and Wolfram/Yuuri. Vegeta and Wolfram can have a contest to see who's the snobbiest prince in town, and Bulma can dress Yuuri up in a cute pink outfit (just like his mom would!)
16.) Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if you'd like. (Eiri/Shuuichi)
They were kissing by the end of the first episode....doing even more than that by the end of the second ^_-
17.) Did #4 have a happy ending? If the show hasn't ended yet, do you think a happy ending is likely? (Wolfram/Yuuri)
Errr, well, not happy in the sense that they've gotten together, but happy in the sense that Yuuri's back in the Demon Kingdom and Wolfram can keep trying his ass off to win his heart ^_^ Teachnically, the series isn't over since the novels and manga are still going, plus an OAV is in the works, but I honestly don't see Yuuri and Wolfram ending up together in canon....Kyou Kara Maou isn't BL, it's just hinty.
18.) What would make you start shipping #14? (Uryuu/Orihime)
I guess I just need to watch more Bleach, see how things go. If there's more banter and stuff between them, I might become more interested, but if there's nothing more to go on I'll probably just forget about it.
19.) If only one could happen, which would you prefer - #2 or #6? (Eiri/Shuuichi or Sawyer/Kate)
I'll have to go with Eiri/Shuuichi. Why? Because even though I like the idea of Sawyer/Kate, it's probably not going to work out in canon because Kate's too hung up on Jack. I really like Sawyer, I don't want to see his heart get broken by her, so while I wish she would just make up her damn mind, when she does decide she'll probably choose Jack. Granted, Eiri/Shuuichi have the problem of Eiri being hung up on Kitazawa, but at least he's dead so Eiri can't choose him (well, he can, but he'd be a damn fool to choose a dead guy :P) I see Eiri/Shuuichi as having more of a chance of working out, while with Sawyer/Kate I see her dumping him as soon as Jack's available.
20.) You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them? (Heero/Relena)
Relena: Heero! Heeeeeeerooooooo!!!! Please come kill meeeeee!
Heero: Mission acknowledged *shoots her* Mission accomplished.
Duo: Hey, Heero, wanna do it?
Heero: *Raises eyebrow sexily* Mission acknowleged.
