Just a rant

It seems like more times than not, I post just to rant when something really saddens or bothers me. it's a good way for me to blow steam and not go off on the people or things that cause the feelings.

Tomorrow is my birthday. I have three best friends. Two of whom I have been close with since high school. I know that's not a long time, but it's the longest I've been in one place. I consider it amazing that I have the same two best friends from the time I first moved to southern California. On that note, one of the two, is...how can I say this? A little bit of a lazy friend. Two years ago on my birthday, she decided to ditch my birthday plans and go hang out with this new boy she was with. The day of my birthday, he asked her out. They are still dating and I think they will continue to date for awhile. So ever since then she has had to miss my birthday because it's their anniversary. I COMPLETELY undestand its a very special day for them. I'd expect the same consideration. My gripe is, can't they take one hour, even thirty minutes out of their day to stop by for the birthday dinner or plans? It's not disappointing to me anymore, because I know the standard of friendship to hold her up to, and its not very high honestly. I find it almost ironic that because she made one mistake two years ago, we both are going to be reminded of that mistake every January 13th from now on. It's so unforunate to say the least.

On another note, I am so excited for tomorrow. We're having a dinner party thing at BJ's since its the one place that has a decent bar but won't kick those under 21 out. I want to make sure everyone can go regardless of age, since I know how much it sucks being the only one! Will keeps joking that my divorce papers will be waiting for me in the morning, because I'm getting too old. We always joke about me being a "baby" and him being "grandpa." He says I can't be over 20; it's not good for his reputation! Haha. This weekend we leave with 3 of our friends for Lake Tahoe because Will's grandparents own a cabin up there. It should be lots of fun. I know we're all excited.
