Good Musical, Bad Hatememe
Everyone, thank you for the support and hugs you sent me in my last post. It was just a matter of a lot of bad things coming together all at once and hitting me hard. I am feeling better now.
Over the weekend, I saw Joss Whedon's project "Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog" -- I think its Web run is over, but it can still be downloaded via iTunes. It's a 40-minute musical he did during the writers' strike which is about a geeky guy who wants to be a supervillain and get the pretty girl he met in the laundromat, but he has a personal and professional rival in the form of his superhero arch-nemesis. It WORKS as a musical, it turns the whole root for the hero/boo the villain concept on its head, and it makes a better musical than most of today's bloated spectacles and "Rent" wannabees. Download and watch. (It's also going to be coming out on DVD).
Oh, and DGM fandom? Please to stop with the anonymous hatememes already. I wish these people would channel the energy they're spending on wanking on other peope behind a curtain of "whoo, I'm anonymous!" into something useful and positive, like fanfic and fanart.
