GREETINGS FROM EUROPE!!!!

May 22, 2009 02:40

In Dusseldorf now, at European Youth Day. Internet is not limited, but my time is. Opening ceremonies are in an hour and a half and we have to fit 40,000 (!!!) NAC Youth into a single stadium within that time. And this computer battery is dying. Will post more later. Probably with pictures. NAC has taken over Dusseldorf and it is NAC-town now.
TTYL!!!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG: I hate that my camera hates the dark. THERE WERE FLAGS AND MY HETALIA FANSPASMS WERE FANSPASMING TO. THE. MAX!!!! I tried to take as many pictures as I could, but it was SO Dark!! I'm hoping to nab someone with a laptop because these computers don't have USB ports. Which. Sucks. Anyway, this trip is a freaking blast. AND AMERICA-ESQUE SNACK STAND INSIDE THE STADIUM WITH A GIANT CHEESEBURGER NEXT TO THE FLAG. I lol'd so hard. XD There was an Italy one too!! With PASTA!!!!
And the French youth are trying to take over. XD They keep walking around with giant flags singing this tune-thing, something I'm guessing that is popular at sports games or stuff like that. EDIT: It's some tune by the White Stripes.
ANYWAY. it is really really hard to write on this keyboard. The z and the y are switched and there's extra letters and stuff.
Be back later. I just found Hetalia ep 18 on youtube.

Uwahh.. it's so hard to stay on the computer for a long period of time. I will probably do proper entries when I get to Chicago. But I finally made some French friends! And got to use my French! I actually had to translate for some people, which was cool. And I met Lithuanian youth!!! I thought of Dryte, so I took a picture! XD And we sang and danced for the Chief Apostle. We completely ROCKED ''Praise His Holy Name'' and then danced to ''Hey Baby.'' It was awesome! Going to the Lord's Prayer garden and then later on this afternoon, I'm hoping to meet up with the Russian youth I've been talking to. And then meeting up again later tonight to hang out with the French youth. They're singing right now and it's really pretty!

;_; EYD is done. It was really sad, but kind of reminiscent of post-closing ceremonies at con, this morning with everything taken down. Didn't find Marina--the Russian youth--but I went to their "Mother Russia" concert. It was really neat, and I thought of Russia and laughed. The guy leading it was way taller than everyone else. XD We're in Koln now, which is Cologne in English. Anyway, the hostel we're staying at is actually really nice. All of the doors are locked and only the people with keys are allowed to go through them. Kinda hotel-esque, but not really. But seriously, I will do epic EYD trip post when I get to Chicago this weekend. My brain is tired, but my body suprisingly doesn't ache from all the stuff we've done today. I walked up--and then back down-- the Koln Cathedral, which was well over 1,000 small corrider circulating up steps. IN. MY. WEDGE. HEELS. I thought I was going to die from it, but it was suprisingly easy and didn't hurt! No one believed me that I did that. But we had proof: pictures. Of which I will post later! ^________^ My pictures from my "preview tour" of NYC are already up. I have taken SO MANY PICTURES!!!

BTW, my Hetalia fan-ness has been pretty epically fanspasming a LOT. Details will be done later. Lots of things have lots of flags--and not just Germany's flag. AND THE LUDWIG MUSEUM!!! I lol'd SO HARD!!! XD

Anyway, this keyboard is cranky. American style, but cranky and doesn't want to let me type as quickly as I would like.

So yah. We leave for London tomorrow morning. Probably going through Belgium, stopping for lunch. Which means I'll get to use my French. ...And everyone will be coming to me to translate instead of Wally. I don't quite know how I feel about that... I guess I'm excited. But a little worried. It shouldn't be too bad. The French youth that I spoke to over the weekend were really patient when I was searching for the correct word in French. So I guess no big worries then. ^^'

Don't know if England's hostels will have internet. Germany's do, clearly. Will be back in the states Friday night!!! My flight back to SeaTac gets in on Tuesday night.
