Home James!

Well the cyclone behaved itself and scooted back out to sea so I was able to fly back home today...still not convinced that was a good thing though ;)

We had a lovely few days at the lighthouse (other side of the Cape from Exmouth) in a chalet that has an amazing panormaic view of the ocean. First night there I slept out on the deck under the stars which was awesome, except for the mosquitos during the night, flies first thing in the morning, and overly bright solar fairy lights that Pete had decorated the deck with at mums urging (totally awesome lights though because they come on automatically and don't require plugging in - just some sun! Mum is getting me some and mailing them down as I tried Bunnings here but they didn't have them). Last night I slept inside under the airconditioning which was great due to no bugs or lights to keep me awake. Christmas day was a scorcher, pretty sure it was well over 40. Basically spent all day grazing on various nibbles and yummy things. Mum finally fulfilled her promise to me made when I was a kid to get me a chicken - she got me this awesome "rocking rooster" whose name is now Rudolfo and I had to carry onto the plane as hand luggage so he didn't get broken . The baggage handlers were bemused when it went through the scanner but one of mums friends Mousey who had stayed for Christmas eve and works at the airport spotted it and reassured them with "no it's okay, it's a chicken!". Gold .

Okay bedtime for me.

Hope you are all recovering from an awesome Christmas and Boxing day!
