It's official - Laurel is now an employed woman. \o/

One of the temp agencies that I registered with had me come into the office and meet with them, take some assessment tests, and such. (I tested at 43 words per minute (for typing), which is on the high side for me. \o/ It really depends on how the test is designed. I have gotten as high as 50 wpm but that was after typing like the wind and when I was done, my fingers ached fiercely. So, 43 is a bit more reasonable for me, with my arthritis.) Within days, they had me interviewing with a call center and hired! In fact, I met with them last Thursday and they got me a job by Tuesday! I'll be taking calls from people who want to put money on paycards for their loved ones in facilities (prisons, mostly) to use to call them. Starts at $10 an hour. I'm excited about that $10 per hour; I can totally live on that. After 120 days, if I'm doing well, I become a permanent employee of the company (instead of working for the temp agency). They seem to need people pretty badly; the training class starts this coming Monday! Laurel is a very soon employed woman!

I'll see if I can make some time to talk about the whole thing in more detail soon. Right now, I've got to use my free time to plan for this job and getting a new place close by. The best part is, I can relax and stop worrying so much. ^____________________^ The hard part is over. Might even be able to finish my au_bigbang story now.
