Thanks to everyone for the hugs and congrats on me getting a job! (This is easier than me replying to each one individually. :P) heh
A couple extra things I wanted to say - I got lucky here because they're hiring 70 people right now since the Shriners circus is in October. Any call center knows they're going to have a high turnover rate; lots of people dislike this kind of work (especially cold calling). So within a few months, many of those people will be gone - that's why they hire so many at once. I got the feeling that anyone with a good amount of call center experience could get the job almost sight unseen; that worked in my favor. Not that I'm not a good employee, but it just made the process a lot faster and easier on them and me.
The full-time people who work during the day call businesses to ask for donations, so I won't be calling people's homes. The part-time night people do that. The hours are pretty nice, really; 9-5 M-Th and 9-4 Fridays. Woohoo, cutting out early on Fridays! :D Heehee. There is a donations quota for each day but it didn't sound that hard to make it. The lady I spoke to said that everyone makes the quota except for the people who were just hired the week before, and there are people who have been there for years. She also said that it's possible to make 600 calls a day! It boggles my mind that there are even that many people to call out there. o/` It's a big world after all... o/`
Anyway, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. (That was a sigh of relief.)
work babble,
thanksfest
