I love Asia

Happy Birthday galaxianomiko!

I love Asia! Here's why:

I was looking for a recipe for melonpan and I stumbled on this description of a Japanese tv show... There's a cute little show for children, "Anpanman," which is about a bunch of superheroes with different bread for their heads. Anpanman, the main character, saves people and if anyone's starving he tells them to take a bite out of his face. Thankfully his head is replaceable, or they wouldn't have had much of a story.

...And if anyone's starving he tells them to take a bite out of his face. ROFL!! God I LOVE JAPAN.

Warning! The following paragraph contains sexual themes and is Rated R by the LJA of LJ. (The Laurel's Journal Association of LJ.) Another wacky thing I stumbled upon is the porn video of women using a pleasure bike, also from Japan. Actually, I saw just the ad for the porn video, not the actual video. Anyway, a pleasure bike is a bicycle created just for the purpose of making porn, not something women actually ride around Japan, because that would be CRAZY. It's a bike equipped with various sex toy-like contraptions on the seat, which a female volunteer can ride around town without anyone knowing that she's riding a pleasure bike. (The sex toys can be, um, concealed.) So they made a video using tiny cameras as well as regular-sized ones of the women having races and riding around town, competing to see who could hide their orgasms the longest. Again, ROFL. Only in Japan.

Kaye, I saw "The Eye 3 10 Infinity Whatever It's Called"! Very cool. It was actually more funny than scary, but it did have some really cool parts. I think they had trouble deciding exactly what they wanted to call this movie. During the "Making of..." special, they keep calling it "The Eye Infinity" but the title on the credits for this special clearly has a 10 in it. Then, the credits for the movie say "The Eye 3." Veeeery confusing. What does your DVD say, Kaye? Maybe they've had more than one release under different names.

Anywho, I love the concept. The ten surefire ways to see ghosts, according to Thai legend. Asian horror movies have made me fall in love with Thailand as well as Japan, so I'm all for these kids running around that country so I can see more of it.

I'm going to go into more detail about the movie in my next post, but right now, I have to go to bread. Nite.

the eye 3, asian horror, i love japan, birthdays
