Thank you, "American Idol," for nearly murdering me by showing the guy who sang really, really, really low while I was chewing a bite of my tuna fish sandwich. Laughter and food bits do not mix. XD
Witness these additions to my personal pantheon of gods! It is the birth of
just_kayeules and her mother, Kayesmomicus! Both gave me a Really Awesome Christmas Present, and for that, they rock the Eaaaaarth!
Seriously, I want a tape of that guy singing lower than the center of the Earth so I can watch it/listen to it anytime I'm feeling blue and cheer myself up. ^_^ I bet someone makes an mp3.
Saturday night was no fun. My neighbor is a young punk who had a party and it got completely out of hand. I seriously could not guess what they were doing in there, but the ruckus it made sounded like they were 1). staging a moshpit, 2). picking each other up and chucking each other against the wall, or 3). imitating "Jackass." They all came outside after starting the bison stampede in the living room, so I went outside and told them they were being loud, very loud. They said they'd quiet down. Two minutes after I went back inside, a cop showed up because one of the downstairs neighbors called them. The kids quieted down. After they reminded me why I have never gotten drunk in my life.
spn_fridayfive on TUESDAY!
1.) How do you feel about the fact that Supernatural reruns are going to be replaced by Reaper after the next four episodes air?
I hope that it doesn't hurt SPN in any way. But otherwise, I don't care very much because it just makes it possible for me to watch "Don't Forget the Lyrics," which comes on at the same time. I love that silly karaoke show.
2.) Have you read either/both of the Supernatural companion novels? If so, how would you like future Supernatural novels to compare or contrast to the two existing novels?
Nah, I haven't had time to read them yet.
3.) How has the WGA strike/hiatus affected you? Has it helped you to explore other parts of the Supernatural fandom? Or do you feel yourself drifting away?
It hasn't affected me a great deal. I'd rather that SPN get a full season, and I'm sad that "Cavemen" seems to have become a casualty of the strike (I hope I'm wrong about that), but I do support the writers striking. I just wish the strike would end already.
If SPN gets cancelled because of the strike, I'll be much more upset about it.
4.) If Dean dies, what do you think Sam will do? Will he continue to hunt? Live an 'apple pie' life? Jump off a cliff? Or something else?
Dean won't die. Or if he does, it will be temporary. So I can't really imagine what Sam would do besides bring Dean back.
5.) Do you think the supernatural creatures that the boys fight off every week are too two-dimensional? Should the writers give them more substance sort of like they did with Madison from "Heart" so that it's harder for the boys to just blast them away?
Sometimes they're just what the doctor ordered. A little mindless "hey I'm just evil, kill me!" monster is nice once in awhile. Other times, I want a monster with more substance, although I thought "Heart" could have been written better.
Oh! I'm on the fence about "Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles."
I'm giving it a few more episodes to see if it grabs me. So far, there have been several moments where I could have changed the channel and not thought twice about it. Then again, there also have been some really cool ideas explored. The problem is the three main characters have virtually no chemistry. I don't like the woman who plays Sarah Conner. She's just... blah. The fact that she has no family chemistry with her son really hurts the show. I'm hoping that will develop with time. The girl who plays the terminator is good at being robotic and I like her, although she has no current romantic chemistry with John. I'm not sure she should, but we'll see. It seems like that's what the creators of the show want. I also like that John is apprehensive about being the leader of this resistance and feels like it puts too much pressure on him. Very realistic. The plot twist about Sarah dying of cancer in 2005 is also very good, nice angst potential. I hope it gets better.
