Okay, it's official, my eyes must be going funny. When I first read your headline, I thought it said "Buy my whores." I was very concerned for a minute. I'm thinking I will decorate my tree with fish sticks and Cheezits this year, for something original. I could tie little red bows around the fish sticks to make them look more festive. And, of course, the Cheezits are very colorful and decorative, too!

Craigslist doesn't allow that sort of thing. :( Hypocrite. Craig is the biggest pimp I know.
You like my hat with the feather on it?
When I say, "Buy my wares," I have a British accent. It's because the phrase comes from some ancient memory I have in the back of my mind of some British waif saying that while he tries to sell things to people passing him on the street. I think it was a very young viewing of Jack Wild as Oliver or something. Buy my wawes!
Jack Wild (RIP) was the Artful Dodger, Mark Lester was Oliver. But, yes, I recall that scene well. It was accompanied by a song called "Who Will Buy?" Great, now I'm going to have THAT song stuck in my head all day. "Who'll buy my whores?" LOL.
The memory is very hazy; I thought Oliver WAS the Artful Dodger. But I'm terrified of my memory sometimes. I couldn't have been more than three when I saw that movie. I think.
Of course, the memory doesn't retain everything. Just snippets of things that come back to haunt me later and make me wonder if I really saw that or if I just made it up.
