I seem to be one the only ones who hasn't commented or reviewed the Daron*Con experience yet and considering I have not one but two lamb's on my friend's list (
dali_lamb &
cranberrysheep), I suppose I should join the herd and comment like my sheeps. Heh. Sheeps.
In one word Daron*Con was "fantastic." I rarely get a chance to see a lot of my good friends because 1.) I'm a recluse hermit & 2.) everyone lives so far away ;o;. So traveling the easy distance East to Indianapolis felt great. I loved Daron's location. As Tori described, she lives in a really swanky neighborhood that just was instant eye-candy for me. I hate to say it but one of my dreams is to own a house that pretty. I have no interest in building my own as I think rennovating an old space is far more asthetically pleasing to me. :3
Our search for soju was successful and we even had time to visit a local Korean restaurant Saturday. :D I thought their kimchi was a lot better than some I've had however it's still an acquired taste to me. I think in terms of quality, personally I think I still prefer Japanese food first but Korean food is really riding on it's heels. Their beef is all-around superior and I like the spicing they do on some of their foods. When it comes to international delicasies, I so wish I dined more often with people who were more familar with the food. They could tell me exactly what to expect and what to try, based on my pallet. I'm sometimes afraid to order new stuff when at an Asian restaurant, lest it contain too much fish. I like trout, salmon, shrimp, and tuna. All other fishes be damned. >.<
We watched Tomestone, which I've been raving about for a long time. I love that film so much. :3 Also got to share "My Life in Film" & the first season of "Spaced" with Daron, which I think she also liked. Played games until 4am which included Scrabble, Yahtzee (which I won, thank you!), and generic Jenga, which I toppled...twice. Then we played about an hour of Brawl which Daron is quite good at considering she's never played anything on the Wii before. I think she held her own!
Sunday was full of chillaxing, watching ridiculous films like the 2004 "Frankenstein" (lolwat?!) and "One Missed Call 2," which were both ridiculous but very fun to lampoon. Also, as Tori explained in full, we had an in depth discussion of how we are going to become the Time Traveling Thieves with a bunker for all our historical shit on the dark side of the moon.
I'll let Tori explain that one. As for other things, I got hopelessly addicted to Super Junior's song, "Sorry Sorry" which is so freakin' catchy it became the theme of Daron*Con. I know this was sooo a couple of month's ago for Daron/Liz, as she posted the song previously, but I never got a chance to hear it until now. Lol-tastic. I just don't understand any band that has more than 6 people; Super Junior sports 13. That..is..ridiculous. How can I fawn over Hechul properly when I can't even see him? Not cool, Korea.
See my pictures on my facebook if you haven't already. :D
Daron*Con. Awesome-times. Can't wait for next year.
On another note, I might also mention I really kinda wanna see this movie called
"Moon." I have a feeling it isn't going to be in the theater's long but it seems like the sort of film I'd like. Sooooo..Tori..Liz......friends? I kinda wanna drag someone along because I don't go so movies alone. >.
