I'm starting a new job, in which I'm setting up what they call an 'audience response system' for the basic astronomy course at my university. What this means, for the lay person and me, is that we're playing around with infrared remote controls that can be used to poll students with multiple choice questions (which probably won't count for credit, given that we're just trialing things this semester). Think 'asking the audience' in Who wants to be a Millionaire?
So I have a question for the (rather limited, but my blog is down) friend's list: Have any of you ever played with these things? What was your experience? If you haven't, what sorts of things do you think this could/should be used for?
