I opened the door, grabbed the newspaper, and glanced at the front page. I happened to notice this reallie sad article about the boy, Mike Herman, whom had gotten into a car accident last night with his mom and had passed away. He went to Grand Haven & was an awesome soccer player, he made all-area this year in matter of fact. Now, I didnt know him...but I know people that did. The story was so unbelievably touching, my eyes were filled with tears as I read it. As I notice everybody's livejournals and away messages about how they knew him & the memories they had from him...I realized he reallie must have been a wonderful person. To everyone who had known him I am very sorry, but it's all in God's plans and everything happens for a reason even though sometimes it can reallie hurt...I am praying for you though, and I am sure others are also. The following is not anything directly related to what happened because that accident was not at all related to stupidity, but it made me think about how it would fit into my life...This real life tragedy makes me worry about my own friends...especially when some of them think its fun to drive like idiots and fool around (even more so in the snow)...it proves how dangerous driving can be, its not just all fun and games...I just wish that they would take a look at the situation and realize how dumb it actually is and that its not reallie worth it...you get one shot at life, and to end it that way would be awful...I mean would you rather get a few minutes of euphoria w/ your friends while messing around in the car & playing on the icy, snowy roads? or be careful, be cautious, and not getting killed in something that could have probably been prevented quite easily by just making a responsible choice. This just makes me more mad at the people who think its funny and amusing to drive like maniacs..."Oh, it won't happen to me" is a bunch of bs...Mike's incident proves that even more so since he wasnt messing around at the time at all, it just makes it that much more obvious...I think ya'll should actually stop and think about it...but hey, I guess thats just my opinion
