Sailor Moon Giveaway Ideas?

Hey, guys! Long time no see... I'm conscious of the fact I keep posting but not reading any of my friends' journals, which is because my internet is capped at the moment so I can't load my FList... but when it picks back up again, I'm really looking forward to getting back into LJ ( Read more... )

Actually, I've thought about that (since baking/cooking is one of my hobbies already), but I decided against it for a couple of reasons; for one, shipping anything edible is going to increase the difficulty of shipping it out almost exponentially - from making sure they arrive undamaged, to customs and quarantine getting it out of Australia, and then the same all over again when it finally arrives in the winner's country.
The other thing is that I already have a Sailor Moon cooking blog called 3oclockfairy that has plenty of Sailor Moon-themed recipes, and I was planning to make, photograph + upload two new recipes at the same time. So rather than me sending them some sort of food, they'd have the recipe so they could make it themselves. So Sailor Moon does have some recognisable candy treats, but I'm... already doing something else with them, kind of? Mostly it's the fact that shipping any sort of food outside of Australia would be a nightmare.
I like your idea of wrapping something up in some Sailor Moon-like presentation, though! Since the celebration was falling on one of the character's birthdays, I was considering including things in the prize that were, like, presents from the other characters...? But that ended up being too far removed from Sailor Moon so I ditched it. But I hadn't thought about using window paint on jars. I will look into it when I go craft shopping.

Yeah, Australia is incredibly anal whenever it comes to sending food overseas... or anything, really. But more than that, there's no guarantee that the food would arrive in any sort of edible condition. Last time a friend of mine sent something here it took two months to arrive. Yikes.

Haha, I guess I just assume everyone knows it's me 'cause I shamelessly pimp it out here whenever I have the chance. xD But thanks!
