Can we take a second to admire Vince McMahon as a business man here?
This move is a gotdamned thing of beauty.
TNA has made the mistake of putting Hogan in a position of power. The fools. -_-
The man's first move, in a position of power he has abused in the past, is to restart the Monday Night Wars.
I got nervous upon the announcement. Sure the idea was epic, but it was originally someone else's idea. In a brand that made a lot of fail decisions, Hogan grabbed the best idea they came up with (besides that Viagra on a pole match, of course -_-).
I relayed my skepticism to Steve who basically patted my head over the phone and reminded me that Vince churns out his best ideas under direct competition, and this is totally awesome news.
I conceded the point and sat back to watch and see what was gonna be in store.
So what does Vince do?
HE SHUTS UP.
Not a word. Not a peep. He went, "Never let them see you sweat. Never let them see you bleed." and didn't acknowledge this publicly.
He then called BRET MUTHAFUCKIN HART to host Raw that night.
WHAT.
A.
TRUMP CARD!
Did YOU see that coming? There were whispers words and rumours. Nothing concrete. Just talk of them patching things up. NOTHING pointing to a true return.
There's word of a Hart Foundation DVD this year which probably also sweetened the pot.
Monday night I'll be watching at Danny's. Wish we had a laptop so we could get a live feed of one and watch the other on TV.
Say what you will about Vince's ego, and the way he lets the cruisers fail, and lets go good wrestlers (smeg knows I do!) but when it comes down to the big decisions, well...
What a man.
Raw is once again war. Let fly the dogs.
