Finally, an update!
But not much of a one, because it's been so long and I don't want to bore the hell out of you. I will try to keep this brief. ::cue maniacal laughter::
Had a splendid Fourth of July with friends. BBQ, pool, tennis, booze and fireworks; what more can a girl ask for?
Took a few days off to squire some in-laws around town and the area while my daughter was at work. We spent a nice afternoon wandering downtown Madison and hung out at a pub on the edge of the square during the Wednesday evening Concert on the Square. It was a James Taylor retrospective, so relatively pleasant. The next day we went up to the Dells and rode the Ducks. First time for me! And I'm a native Wisconsinite. Well, guess I can finally not add that to my bucket list, if I was ever going to.
Okay, getting long-winded again, sorry.
The daughter is going to give me her cat, Otis. Her new roommates' cats are bullying him something fierce and he won't even come out from under her bed, poor thing. It will be nice to have a pet again.
Work is trucking along. Our attempt to hire a new customer service person gained nothing this last go-around. Somehow, the person we offered the job to didn't seem to understand that a permissive transfer also means it's lateral, not a promotion, so no more money that what she's making now. And she's actually making more, because she gets considerable overtime in her current position. So now we're back to square one. Which is actually square zero, because one of my current folks has to go to China to care for a sick mother (cancer) and will be gone for two months. Which means I will have front desk duty every day, all day while she's gone. ::sobs into infinity scarf, because it is all about me::

Helped a friend move on Sunday, feeling satisfied and accomplished, yay. Afterwards, went to another friend's place to help drink up her booze before she moves to DC, today. Played Cards Against Humanity to hilarious effect. Total day well-spent.
Think that's the highlights for at least the last two weeks. That's all you're getting, because I don't want to torture you.
