Let's start with the good news (ignore the icon, that's for later)

The right foot is doing much better. The anti-inflammatories are helping a LOT. And the ultrasound on Monday showed that there is no tearing of the plantar plate, although the tissue is degenerative. Most of the pain was coming from the fact that I also had a neuroma (a swollen nerve) between the second and third long bones of the foot (metatarsals) and an inflamed bursa sac. So, all three of those things were partying down in my foot, all smushed together and trying to (painfully) elbow each other out of the way. As I mentioned already, though, the NSAID the doctor has me on is awesome. I still scheduled a steroid shot for the 27th, if for some reason it flares up badly in the meantime, but I'm thinking I probably won't need it. However, now that the ball of the foot is starting to feel better, the second toe is being a pissy little bitch, again. Sigh. Will have to speak with the podiatrist about that.

Now, for my writing update and why I'm slapping the back of my own head.

Yeeaahhh. Not getting nearly as much written as I need to. Adding to the story only during word wars isn't really going to get me to my deadline. ::headdesk:: I keep promising myself at least 500 words a night. Well, I got that tonight! Not so much on other nights. I've spent more time revising my damn outline than writing. At least I had a good brainstorming session with a friend the other night, so I'm working some of the kinks out of the plot before I get to where they'll be a problem. So, yay, progress?

health, foot, big bang, writing
