Oh, ghod, oh, ghod...

someone take my debit card away from me. I really need to buckle down and stick to the budget. It really sucks, though, that most of what I spent yesterday was stuff I really needed.

• Hat - to keep the sun off my face while I walk from my car to work and back. It's just too damn hot out lately to go bareheaded. Even taking a bottle of water with me, I'm still sweating like a stuck pig by the time I get to work. It helped a little this morning, but maybe not as much as I hoped. Verdict is out on this purchase. $10

• TV antenna - because I fully intend to get rid of cable to save money. $30 purchase to save (hopefully) $60 a month. Worth it.

• Duct tape - keeps my car running. 'Struth. Got the good stuff - $7

• Foam roller - therapeutic massage. Did the 15 minute DVD workout that came with it and it really made things feel better, at least for a while. I think this may help solve some of my neck and back problems. Definitely worth it. $25

• Container and tray for top of toilet tank in bathroom. Sounds weird, but I've been keeping all my lipsticks in a wicker basket there; there just is not enough room on the sink counter. Only the basket is so old, it's pretty much disintegrating and I needed to replace it with something. Glass jar with bronze lid and bronze tray - $20. Eh, a little splurgey, but I was already at Target.

• Comics - wouldn't have been so bad (about $30) but I needed a Tony Stark fix something fierce, so I picked up a hardback graphic novel for $20. And then the really cute set of Doctor Who sticky notes. $60

I had an extra $80 in my paycheck to play with, but as you can see, I went a little overboard. Now, to go call Charter and cancel the damn cable.

shopping, budget
