Grrr. Arrgh. Not going as well as I'd like. I didn't quite make my goal for yesterday, falling short at 1600 words and only finishing one scene. I at least got a decent start on the next scene with a couple hundred words and a fairly detailed outline. I've managed to get another 600 words written on that scene so far today, but then I hit a block and after two hours of poking and hemming and hawing I've realized this particular scene, in the service of getting this damn thing written, would work better if I split it in half to tell it from two different points of view. I kind of feel like I'm cheating to do it, but then I'm also afraid if I try to tell it all from the one POV it's going to take forever to actually write everything that happens and it's not all necessary for the story. It will, in fact, work better to leave one of the ancillary characters a bit of a cipher for the moment. So, at this point, I'm well over my minimum of 6000 words required, so I have no word count goal to actually shoot for other than to finish the damn story. However, since I seem to be averaging around 1000 words per scene I would guestimate that I have around 3000 words left to write. ::headdesk:: Well, I used to pull all nighters in school to write 10 page term papers, guess it's not all behind me after all!
