To bring you all up to date...
Week 5... starting to get the hang of things...
Sunday, 8/27/06
After a very long weekend I rested up and did my homework. It was a pretty uneventful day. I wound up doing some cooking and going to bed early.

I ran a bunch of errands today and took care of business. I ended by going to Book Off and buying a couple manga and reading them this evening. It was really good Japanese practice.

Today I got a lot of business done... I paid my first National Health Insurance bill... it's pretty interesting because you usually pay your bills at convenience stores. You just hand them the bill and they ring you up. Convenience stores living up to their name. I also went grocery shopping. A very uneventful day I guess... I guess I can't have an adventure every day.

I had a test and speech presentation today. They went very well and left me feeling pretty good after school. A bunch of us went to get bento for lunch. I got a delicious sushi one. It was delicious. One of them had really tiny fish eggs that I believed were mixed with sugar. For some reason it was pink... but oh well... I ate fish eggs!... and they were good. ha.. go figure.

Today we had a mandatory academic orientation for the next portion of our education here. It was kind of long, so they provided us with lunch. They gave us pizza! It was delicious! It was the first thing I've eaten that resembled american food. It was rather refreshing.

Today was Awesome!!! It was a long day, but it was amazing!
Ok, so to start off... we had a cultural program we signed up for in the morning. We got to go to a sumo stable and watch them practice!!! So, we left around 6 am and met at the Uguisudani station. We got to watch them until 8:30am, at which point we left for class. It was amazing. They were doing exercises when we got there and practice matches by the time we left. We actually saw the world champion there (he wasn't practicing,... just chilling by the side watching). I'm sure that the owner of the stable was champion at some point. We all really wanted to take pictures, but were asked beforehand not to do so. They had a tournament coming up soon and were a little nervous about it. My goodness... sumo wrestlers are powerful! So much of them is pure muscle!
Tonight we went to Angelo's for another karaoke party. This time we had 21 people. After that we went to the Lexington Queen in Roppongi again. It was as fun if not more fun than last time. Good times... good times...

Today was a day of rest. I watched a couple movies and did some work. I'm doing lots of review of old kanji to make sure that I don't forget any. I did my essay early and got it out of the way.

Well, this brings you up to speed for now... I spent most of today just studying, doing homework, and updating facebook. Speaking of which.... I added a lot of pictures to the scrapbook.
http://pics.livejournal.com/saiko_setsuna/ I got a bunch of photos from what other people have taken and put those up as well. It helps to fill in the gaps for the days that I forget my camera or just forget to take a picture. So.... be sure to check out the updated pics!
