Title: Sweet Dreams
Rating: PG-13 (for themes of Sho waking up naked)
Pairing: Sho/Ohno
Disclaimer: I guess Johnny’s technically owns Arashi, huh? Not me.
Summary: In celebration of Shiyagare last night except for the fact that I wrote this several weeks ago. Set after the first "Arashi's Troubles" segment aired during the special in September, in which each of the members shares a problem that they want solved to their 'Godfather's/mother's'. This story revolves mostly around Sho's situation. Translation of the part I'm referencing can be found
here.
When none of the solutions to their problems, given during their Arashi ni Shiyagare special, actually worked, Aiba took it upon himself to help his friends.
The first pair of jeans that the animal lover had tried to wash had faded, and so he’d simply gone back to not washing them…ever. That was his solution to his own problem.
He was just telling Nino (who had found himself in the same situation as before after talking to his manager about it and finding that his suggestion had already been attempted without success) that he should try to sneak food into a napkin when no one was looking as Sho walked into the break room and suddenly found himself becoming the center of attention.
“Because Sho-chan’s problem is more serious,” Aiba explained softly to Nino, who had barely been paying attention to him over his video game anyway. As soon as he set his bag down a table, the rapper felt his friend gently take his hand, and he was led to a simple table in the corner with a piece of paper and pencil already waiting.
Aiba motioned for him to sit down, so he did, and the younger man sat across from him, readjusting himself before picking up the pencil and looking at Sho expectantly as he prepared himself to take notes.
“So, this… sleeping problem of yours,” he stared, and Nino scoffed from the couch. Sho was almost infamous around Johnny’s for being a bad bed partner, first discovered by the gamer himself who vowed never to sleep with Sho again only a year after they had become Arashi. At first they had all just written it off as Nino being spoiled, but the next time they had been split off in a similar way, Jun volunteering to room with Sho as the gamer of the group was being difficult about it, the youngest had shown up with a bite mark on his arm and that was the end of it. Sho was ostracized.
The situation hadn’t really come up again, except for the occasional teasing around work, until the special at least. Sho had been asked, and with experts at his disposal, he was sure that a solution would become clear, but after buying three new pillows, several flavors of incents, and even cutting grass to place under his head at night, his sleeping habits had remained the same.
Of course they had all laughed when the story of him waking up naked halfway out of his window (which had been dramatized, but seriously, how had that happened?) had come up, and it seemed like that had spurred Aiba into action despite already knowing the problem.
“Do you still get rest or do you find that you wake up tired?” Aiba continued in a conversational tone, already writing notes of his paper even though his patient hadn’t said anything.
Sho scratched his lip first, happy that Aiba was willing, but not entirely sure anything was going to come of it. But it didn’t hurt to talk about his problem with his friends, anyway. “Well, it happens almost every night… I guess I’m tired, but it’s usual.”
Nodding in understanding, the scientist wrote for a few seconds before asking, “Has there ever been a time when you haven’t moved around? Or at least that you think you haven’t?”
Leaning back and taking a deep breath first, Sho tried as hard as he could to recall such an instance. “Well… of course when I’m completely exhausted…” Aiba nodded, continued his notes, then tried to think himself.
“Sometimes after I drink too much, too, although I can’t really verify the accuracy of that…”
Nino snickered in amusement, although he didn’t add anything to the conversation, and all three of the idols turned to the door distractedly when Jun walked it.
“Oh Jun, I want to talk to you too once I’m done with Sho-chan, okay?” Aiba said brightly, and Jun looked curious, at least until he realized what the topic was.
The analyst turned back and urged, “And that’s all? Otherwise you end up in weird positions and in various states of undress?”
Sho grinned at the description, but nodded in affirmation.
“Well, if you think of anything else, let me know. I’m still working towards a solution myself, but I’ll tell you if I come up with anything,” Aiba nodded, picking up his notes, and Sho shrugged. If somehow the animal lover did come up with something, it would be wonderful and fully worth the little effort that the rapper had put into it.

And indeed, after filming that day, Aiba bounded over to him, the rest of the group watching on in wonder (although Ohno simply looked like he was managing to stay awake), and said confidently, “Remember that party at Jun’s during Christmas? We all got drunk and fell asleep in the living room together. I don’t remember anything happening that night.”
Sho blinked at him, surprised at the sudden progress.
“You’re right,” Nino said, furrowing his brows in confusion. “Ohno was basically lying on top of him when he woke up and everyone was fine.”
Although the older idol almost responded to the over the top teasing by the gamer, instead he added, “I wasn’t even that drunk or tired then…”
“Yeah! And you know what else? After one of the concerts last year we all ended up sleeping in the same room, didn’t we? And there wasn’t a problem then, either…” the scientist added, as if to prove to everyone that he was putting his full effort into it.
“So what you’re saying is that if we’re all together, Sho sleeps normally?” Jun asked with a tinge of incredulity.
“Can you think of any time it didn’t happen?” Aiba shot back sincerely instead of answering the question.
All of them thought about it, still standing just outside the filming studio, and even Ohno blinked a few times and sported his usual lopsided thinking frown.
“No…” Jun answered after a substantial pause.
“No,” Nino repeated, and Ohno shook his head. Aiba looked back at Sho and smiled.
“We’re on our way to a solution!”
The newscaster couldn’t really reply, since he didn’t see how he could possible force Arashi to start sleeping with him every night in order to curb his body’s weird habit. Besides, Sho had always seen it as his body’s subconscious attempt to protect himself, either from getting too hot or being smothered by someone else… although he did understand that the results were way over the top, with Jun getting bitten and all. If there was a way to fix it he would, but it wasn’t like it was really doing him that much harm. Just a little fatigue and general shame.
Ready to tell Aiba to forget the whole thing, Sho couldn’t get it out in time and soon enough the peppy star was patting his shoulder and heading for the changing room without him.

The next time Arashi met, Sho walked into the break room, fairly early for the filming, and interrupted a lecture directed at Jun.
“Really, I think you need to be more sensitive to Oh-chan’s feelings,” was the first fully comprehensible thing that Sho heard, and immediately felt bad for the youngest idol. “You know how much he doesn’t like confrontation…”
“You’re kidding me, right? How is the fact that Ohno couldn’t tell me he was annoyed my problem?”
Aiba frowned. “You should have been paying attention! It’s so easy to tell what he’s feeling, isn’t it? For us at least?”
Looking mildly uncomfortable, as if his friend had made a perfectly valid point but he didn’t want to admit it, Jun folded his arms and finally stared over at Sho. As per his plan, no doubt, Aiba’s attention fell on the newscaster and he suddenly perked up.
“Sho-chan! I thought of something!”
As the animal enthusiast stood and walked towards him, Jun slunk out of his seat and pulled his mp3 player of out his bag, looking relieved that he’d been saved.
“And what’s that, Aiba?” Sho finally asked when he didn’t hear what new idea the hyper man was toying with within a few breaths.
“I want to wait until everyone’s here. I think it’s better as a group project,” he beamed, and Jun rolled his eyes as he settled himself into the couch.

They made light talk about the usual until Nino and Ohno arrived together less than ten minutes later, and Aiba immediately dropped the conversation to instead catch the pair up on the fact that he had come up with a new idea.
Nino fell next to Jun and Ohno pulled a folding chair next to the one Sho was sitting on, probably closer than necessary, but when the rapper looked up, Leader only smiled lightly and leaned his head on the other idol’s shoulder, almost as if he was ready to go back to sleep. Slipping his arm around the back of the chair to accommodate the lethargic man, Sho didn’t let the chance to snuggle with Ohno slip away even though Aiba had started his explanation. With everyone else relaxed and the analyst pacing the floor slowly with one hand behind his back, it suddenly seemed like the problem at hand was much more important than it was; a murder mystery being solved by their own Sherlock Holmes.
“So last time we decided that Sho-chan sleeps okay when we’re in a group, right?” Aiba clarified, looking around at the other four people in the room, but the only reaction he got was a halfhearted nod from Nino. Jun was still looking irritated and like he didn’t want to pay attention to the source of his annoyance, while Sho didn’t dare to move, just in case he jarred Ohno enough to make him sit up properly.
“Right. But, Nino-chan won’t sleep in the same bed with him anymore, and Jun returned with a battle wound.”
The youngest lightened up a little at that comedic description and finally nodded, still playing with his mp3 player instead of focusing all of his attention on Aiba.
“So basically, that leaves us with three choices. Either we all have to be together, or it’s because either me or Oh-chan are sleeping with him, right?”
Silence fell on the group after that hypothesis, but Nino and Jun couldn’t come up with a counter argument quickly, so the pacing star continued. “I decided that I’ll sleep over at Sho-chan’s tonight. That way we can start to see what the real reason is.”
“Masaki, I can’t… I’m not going to be home until really late tonight.”
“That’s okay. I’ll meet you at your apartment. Just call me whenever you’re headed home,” Aiba said with a bright smile and of course there was no way he Sho could turn him down.
He told himself it was all for the sake of solving his problem.

The next morning when Aiba walked in looking haggard, Jun grinned, and Sho could only keep his head down in shame.
“What happened?” Nino asked, genuinely curious and looking just as amused as his younger comrade.
“Did you get bitten?” Jun followed up, obviously hoping that the answer was positive.
“No…” Aiba replied, rubbing his face and trying to keep his eyes open. “I fell off the bed once, and so Sho offered to sleep on the floor…”
They both waited in silence, and even Ohno seemed interested, seated at the folding table in the corner with his cell phone open.
“But after he set a futon out and we went back to sleep… I kept waking up. The bed kept shaking and when I checked, Sho-chan was out of his futon and pushed up against the side of it. He was like kicking it or something while he was asleep,” Aiba whined, looking to Jun and Nino for sympathy, and the duo immediately nodded in understanding. The gamer opened in arms first, Jun immediately following the action, and Aiba fell into them with a frown while they cooed that he had been brave for the sake of finding a solution and that he’d done well.
Sho glanced at Ohno, and then winced when the older man met his eyes. Leader was no doubt next, and that was a situation that the rapper wanted to avoid at all costs. Aiba was kind, but he also forgave easily and would probably forget the traumatic night by the time they finished with the photo shoot, and although Ohno would no doubt do the same, Sho wasn’t sure he could forgive himself if he hurt the captain.
But, as expected, at Aiba’s prompting after the session, Ohno made plans to come over to Sho’s apartment in a few days, the night before their next filming and the only time that seemed to work for both of them. Everyone seemed to be expecting the same result, but it was almost as if they wanted Ohno to go through the same pain as them.

Sho didn’t like it, but here they were, sitting together in Sho’s apartment, watching the news with empty plates on the coffee table, and the rapper not thinking about anything but how he could stop his stupid body from acting as it usually did.
Staying up all night was an option, but he had work tomorrow and Ohno would no doubt notice-this was supposed to be for the sake of finding a solution after all, and that would go to waste if Sho didn’t comply.
When they finally went into the bedroom, the younger idol changing into his regular plaid pajamas and Ohno simply slipping off his pants to stand in his t-shirt and boxers, Sho tried to tell Ohno that they really didn’t have to do this, but was silenced before he even got anything out. When Leader was settled, Sho crawled under the blankets after him, and then slowly turned off the bedside lamp, leaving them in near darkness.
An unanticipated fluttering took over Sho’s stomach as he lay on his back, staring up at the ceiling he could barely see, and his body was tenser than he thought possible. The simple anticipation of falling asleep was making him stay rigid and he wasn’t sure that he even could fall asleep, although right now Ohno’s steady breaths were very comforting. But he still tried anyway, closing his eyes and focusing on slowing his own intake of air down enough to lure himself into falling unconscious. Inside of his head a decision had been reached, and that was to lock himself in the bathroom to sleep on the floor in there once Ohno woke him up, which was bound to happen.
Sho was in the process of trying to tell his body to behave tonight, to leave some subliminal command to avoiding hurting Satoshi at all costs that could be read when he was asleep so he wouldn’t have to spend the rest of the night on the cold bathroom floor, when he suddenly felt a gentle hand on his waist. It was too early for him to have fallen asleep and the rapper knew that, but he pretended anyway, trying not to react as Ohno slid closer and rested his head softly on Sho’s shoulder, just like he had earlier that day.
Somehow through his heart pounding madly and the sweat that had just seeped out to wet his pajamas under his arms, the cursed sleeper somehow fell into a quick slumber.

Unfortunately, the next day the pair entered the break room without much improvement. Sho was staring at his shoes in shame, and Ohno was looking very misunderstood.
“How was it?” Aiba asked quickly at the matching demeanors, pushing himself up from his chair to approach the couple, and Sho swiveled his head to look away from his friend, his face burning.
When he was rejected, the scientist turned to their leader with a faltering expression, and by that time, Jun and Nino had joined the group.
“What happened?” Jun pressed, and Ohno scratched himself once before he shrugged.
“Did he bite you?” Nino suggested, and the older man shook his head.
“Did he make you fall off the bed?” came Aiba’s next question, and when that was a negative answer too, the room fell quiet in anticipation of the explanation.
“We slept fine… I think…” Ohno said, but looked a little unsure of himself, since he was a heavy sleeper anyway and because of that he couldn’t really vouch for Sho’s rest.
“Then what?” Jun was starting to sound a little impatient. “Something evidently happen…”
Leader stared at him innocently at the same time Sho turned to make his escape (which was stopped by Nino, whose eyes had become clear with understanding), and it seemed like the rest of the group realized the same thing at the same time.
“Oh God. Don’t tell me Sho was naked when you woke up?” Jun grimaced, and then added under his breath that he wasn’t sure if that was worse than getting bitten or not.
“…Actually, we both were,” Ohno clarified, and the room fell completely silent for five full seconds before erupting in unbelieving exclamations and a whine of jealousy from Aiba.
Sho was so mortified he could have died.
But he had slept well.

A/N: I'll probably write a sequel to this. Still working on the drabbles and I should be posting more of those soon... And then the Ohba story that I keep promising, but I've been posting other stuff instead. =A= Please forgive me.
As always, comments and/or criticism are welcome. :)
