The soft sound of footsteps on grass, and a shadow falls across the fence. A moment later, Alain settles crossed arms on the top rail, leaning against the fence beside her.

A sidelong look; a smile barely touches his face, but it settles in his eyes.

"Wei, Alain." She glances up at him, smiling. "Long days and pleasant nights."

It's something of a refrain that she's heard a great deal over the last month or so, oh aye-- from Alain, from 'Bert, from 'Dora, from Aziraphael...

Susan shakes her head and pulls the long blade of grass from her mouth, batting at his nose with the soft head at the unchewed end of it.

"I'm fine, say true." Exasperation and affection both are clear. "And thee?"
