Knowledge lies in communities: Why I love nerdy people

Jun 05, 2008 01:29

Steve, who is building a computer for/with me, just spent the last hour telling me about capacitors, diodes, south and north bridges, and other things on a motherboard.

Mark, on one of our last dates, was explaining binary and ASCII to me.

In the past, Ellen's tried to teach me how to code HTML from scratch and Alpha's tried to teach me CSS.

Heehee. I love nerdy people. For my line(s) of work, the computer science type things are basically pointless for me to know, but that's why I love it to do it so much. Knowing unexpected things gives me a mental edge and makes me feel sneaky. :D

But now I'm exhausted (there are probably tons of misspelled words in there). It's 1:30 am, I biked 4.5*2 miles today, and I'm going to bed.
