Music is the glue of the universe?

One of my favorite songs for the past few months is Thingy "Drugs". It is short and simple. It is also by the singer of Pinback who I am madly enamored with [purely musical, I assure you.]

Today I finished a 6 day stretch working at the S&B. I will have a lot of money in 2 weeks. I will have enough money tomorrow to support my Chicago trip, which is also tomorrow. My roommate Sara is awesome and is driving to Chicago and allowing me to tag along so I can visit Bruno as well as her friend Edward. I have no plans except to walk around, drink some booze and try and visit a museum or two. Chicago is the best, and I could use a break after all the school and work I've put up with lately.

Another good song is "All My Little Words" by the Magnetic Fields.

Both of those songs are from the 90's, which were a great decade, and I wish I was more musically conscious then, but I was young and naive.

Music is rocking me lately. I haven't really gotten into new music [recently released, I mean] in forever, but I kind of like it. I feel like I've found a musical niche that I can feel comfortable in and not feel like I'm settling, and there's always something new to discover. Possibly because my favorite band for a while, Pinback, has about 18 different side projects to always keep me listening to new styles. And Ryan Adams, my other favorite artist of the past couple of years, puts out a new CD like every 3 months.

With that being said, is there anything you [readers?] feel I'm missing out on musically? I like to listen to music while I'm walking around campus, that's how I play new albums, so any suggestions, I'd love to explore some more.

A song which reminds me of being depressed at Camp Davis, a really odd depression because I kept seeing the most beautiful natural sights I've ever seen, and yet I felt really alone and wanting someone else to experience it with, and this song kept me going through that and thinking there was something more - "Streamside" which is a collaboration between Sigur Ros and The Album Leaf [which have been up there with me for years but I just discovered this song at camp.]

I'm going to the Biostation this summer! Well I've applied, and I am getting a recommendation from the director of my major, so it should look pretty decent if it works out... Camp D set some high standards for hippie nature summer school, but I've heard wonderful things about the Biostation too.

I like going to bed before 2 and waking up around noon, slowly chipping away at my sleep debt. Which I am going to go do, after I finish the Hitchhiker's Guide. Peace.
