Biostation update. Things are the same except that there is a lot less partying because of final exams, papers, projects, and presentations. All things I do not like, all things I am doing in the next week, that I am not prepared for. Oy. Too intensive if you ask me.

I went mist-netting a week ago and got to hold an Indigo Bunting we caught. I also got to let some birds fly away. I felt like a Disney princess. Also we guerilla camped a couple times at Sturgeon Bay which was wonderful, sleeping and waking up on the beach, drinking beers around the campfire, jumping in and out of Lake Michigan whenever our wastoid hearts desired.

I miss my friends back home. There was a huge crazy work party that everyone but me attended, and I'm demanding a welcome-back throwdown when I get home. I'll be home the 13th through the 18th although during that time I'll be packing up all of my shit to move home/go to San Fran. But I still want a party.

Somehow I've gotten through a bit of my summer reading list. I just finished A Million Little Pieces (brand-new at the thrift store for $1.50!!!) which was amazing, and I don't really care if it was lies or embellished or whatever you want to call it, it's a great book and I read it in 3 days. Before that I read For Whom the Bell Tolls, and Cat's Cradle which I've already read but wanted to re-read. Now I'm reading another Hemingway, the Nick Adams Stories because they're about northern Michigan and Hemingway used to live up here so it's kinda nifty to read while I'm here.

Back to the grind!

Also if anyone is interested I will be going to Grand Rapids on Sept 27 for Atmosphere and Chicago for the Touch & Go festival on Sept 7-9 http://www.tgrec.com/links/tg25/. IF anyone wants to ride along, split gas costs, crash for free, let me know.
