So, it's been forever. Life has been the same cycle of ups and downs so there isn't really a whole lot y'all have missed. BUT!!!!!
I am writing this from Deck 8 of Royal Caribbean's "Vision of the Seas" as we're pulling away from Cabo San Lucas. Yeah... I did it. I went on the cruise. And we've been out since Sunday night. I'm having a blast and am making new friends with my old friend's friend, and I'm hoping I'm renewing a long and continuing friendship with Judy. I love being on the ship. If you can find the right place, it's incredibly peaceful just watching the water. Saw a seal today in Cabo! That was cool. Of course, I also made a total fool of myself in Cabo as I tried to get into the water taxi from the beach. I got one leg over the side of the boat, but didn't move fast enough and the outgoing current wiped me off my feet and practically under the boat. I came up sputtering sea water and laughing my ass off. It was definitely America's Funniest Home Videos material. I also got one hell of a sunburn, which will likely be aggravated tomorrow in Mazatlan, but I've promised myself to try to stay in the shade a little more. On Thursday, I'm going on an afternoon horseback ride into the Sierra Madres before the ship heads back to Los Angeles, where we'll dock around 7:00 on Sunday morning.
Oh, the other "big" news in my life is that I've been taking ballroom dancing lessons for about 5 weeks. I'm not great, but I'm not bad either. And I've got a rather large crush on my instructor. Too bad he's got a girlfriend already. Darnit! It would have been much more fun to have him here since I know he'd dance with me and I'm not getting asked by anybody else. Linda, my cabin mate, says my next cruise should be a "singles cruise." I'm not seeing a "next cruise" in my future.
Work is same old, same old. The kids are going great. The girls are graduating from high school next week and Meggie is off to Northern Arizona University in the fall. They turned 18 at the end of last month. *sigh* The last of my babies are growing up.
So I hope all of you are well. Given the choice of a new computer and internet access or dancing, I'm opting for dancing right now, so I'll get back here as I can.
Love you all!
(Not sure why this post is dated 5/14/07... it's still only 5/13/08. Oh well.
