Finally...an update

Hello to the LJ world. It's been like forever since I last updated, and I blame my hiatus on my crrrazy and hectic school/family life. Other than being a busy bee, things have been going well in my life. Lots to update so here goes:

Married Life
Life's been great with the mister. Yesterday, it being Mother's Day, Alvin took me out for delicious steak at Ruth's Chris. Luckily, we found some family friends (whose daughter is Jolie's best friend from preschool) who were willing to watch Jolie for us. Plus, she didn't even wanted to come along with us because she wanted to play with her best friend. They're like sisters...with the love/hate relationship. He's been a real sweetie recently and now that we've been married for 4 and a half years, things have definitely gotten much much much better. We hardly ever argue and we've finally learned to compromise. Even with my hectic school and his work schedules, we've managed to maintain harmony in our marriage and family life.

Princess Jo
My little one is growing up beautifully. Yesterday, she woke up early without waking me up, and made breakfast with her father. They made thin pancakes (recipe from the book "Pancakes" by one of our favorite children's book author, Tomie De Paola) with frozen strawberries, and hash brown. She's still my lil' ballerina. She loves and looks forward to her ballet lessons. Already, she's been asking to be in the next Nutcracker production. Also, we found a halau for her not-so-nearby. We don't mind sending her there though despite the long drive and expensive gas prices...because Jolie is adorable wearing her pa'u skirt and shaking her hips! They're practicing for the annual Luau and it'll be Jolie's first hula performance...and we're all really excited. Everyday she never fails to surprise me with her "jokes" (her knock-knock jokes are hilarious because they're not funny at all but seeing her think so hard to come up with a joke just CRACKS me up!), never forgets to hug and kiss me, and she always tells me she loves me. That makes me adore and embrace motherhood so much. Not just on Mother's Day but everyday.
Oh, and recently, we bought Jolie a snowboard and it's the CUTEST darn thing....a Burton Chicklet...the shortest one ever made 90cm. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any snowboarding boots that'd fit her. She currently wears size 9 and the smallest boots are size 11. Maybe next season??? if we put several pairs of socks on her????
Jolie's such a princess. We took her to the Happiest Place on Earth in March and she insisted on wearing her Cinderella costume, Cinderalle tiara and her "glass" slippers. We had a blast there. Her favorite ride was "It's a Small World". My brave daredevil even went on the Haunted Mansion...i know it's not that scary but I didn't think she wanted to go on that ride. But she enjoyed it.

And finally...
Gotta save my good news for the very end. Alvin and I are....*drum rolls* ...expecting our second child! We're both excited...and so are my parents. Unfortunately, we weren't able to tell his parents yet because they're cruising in Europe until the end of the month. She/He is due in January...again, another January baby! [Alvin's bday is Jan 6 and Jolie's is Jan 26] This lil' one's is due Jan 14. So for now, we're hurrying to once again baby-proof the house, redecorate to make room for the little one. There're several trips we plan on taking prior to the new baby...Garlic Festival in Gilroy, that's a must (and plus I've been madly craving for stinky stuff like onions and cheese as of late...), Alvin won 4 tickets to Monterey Bay Aquarium so we'll be going there sometime this summer, and we've booked a week-long cruise to the Mexican Riviera in late September. Alvin's worried bout me getting motion-sickness and that I won't fully enjoy the trip since I'm pregnant. But I doubt I'd feel sick since I'll be in my second trimester.
We've been thinking bout baby names already...but it's not really set yet. We like the name Zoe if it's a girl...but I started thinking how horrible it'll be with our last name starting with a letter Y. She'll be dead last in class rosters all the time. And Alvin wants to name our son Darius (that was the name we came up with for a boy when I was pregnant w/ Jolie before we found out her sex) We'll see when time comes.

Some eye candy for you...
