Lately...

I have now been at Georgetown University Hospital on their 2 Bles Heme/BMT unit for 2 months. So far so good. I have slowly made a couple friends. The patient population is very similar to that at Jeff.

Nate and I have had our ups and downs living together. I think it just takes a while to get used to living with someone else that you share a bed with. There have definitely been more ups than downs and I believe we have come to a happy understanding that allows us to live together and share a bed together.

More and more wedding planning going on. Bridesmaid favors have been purchased. Hotel reservations have been made. I have yet to pick out the invitations and do the food tasting at the country club, but those are the next two things on my list in addition to choosing flowers. David's Bridal just called to let me know my veil is in for pick up. Yay! The veil is one of my favorite parts of my dress. It is a cathedral length ivory with subtle beading along the trim. My friend, Terese, has loaned me a couple of her tiaras as well. Terese's mom is going to do end of the pew decorations and she gave me a hand-made envelope box to go on the gift table. She is quite handy and I appreciate everything everyone has contributed!

I am currently working on expanding my social life. I have e-mailed a girl about a volleyball league that I hope to join in DC. Hopefully, that will work out. I have been trying to get to the gym 3-4 times per week on my days off. I recently shaved a minute off my mile, which is exciting! I am about at a comfortable 3 miles per day pace, but want to work hard to increase that to 4 or 5 miles. We shall see!

My parents and my sister came to visit last weekend. My sister had a President's Day Weekend volleyball tournament at the Convention Center in DC. She played really well! It was also my daddy's 53rd birthday so we did a mini-celebration on Sunday with take-out Chinese and chocolate cake. It was fun to see everyone and show them Nate and my new apartment. My mom gave us a beautiful pot of flowers to add some color to our living room. My entire family seemed to really like our apartment and seemed content with me living here away from them. I think once they realized I wasn't all that far away, they felt much better.

Nothing much else is going on. It's currently dinner time (steak, mashed potatoes, and veggies courtesy of Chef Nate) so I will end this entry. I'm very hungry after my run!
