A Sunny Post

I'm feeling especially accomplished as I've finished most of my assignments for my online epidemiology course. It's easy to work hard when your significant other must work hard as well. So, Nate and I spend our time with eachother sitting about 2 feet apart staring and typing on respective laptops. It's sort of a comical scene when I think about it. It's better than being alone, in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, Nate and I do other things besides homework. Just yesterday we went to the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. and enjoyed the Edward Hopper exhibit. The Hopper exhibit was great. It was chronological, so most of the famous, really great works were at the end of the tour, but I still really enjoyed some of his earlier works, including the sketches. The only real problem I had with the exhibit was that the really famous paintings were in small spaces and since yesterday was a gorgeous day, a ton of people were all crowded into the exhibit trying to get a closer look at the paintings. It might just be worth a second go-around.

After the Hopperness Nate and I went to the Elephant and Castle for an early meal and yummy beverages. Yay for Stella Artois and a melon cooler. The spinach and artichoke dip is one of my favorites and I ate a ceasar salad as my entree. Quite delicious all the way around. I even ended up ordering the Big Ben Brownie for dessert. And it was huge and impossible to finish. Nate was not too much of a help on that end, I might add. Hehe.

Anyway, I've really been basking in this gorgeous pre-fall weather (if I may call it that). Nothing like a sunny day to make you smile.

Plus, I have lots to look forward to. This week I am attending the National Magnet Conference in Atlanta, Georgia with about 10 of my colleagues from TJUH. It's an all expenses paid trip including a 53 dollar per day allowance for meals and a fancy dinner on Wednesday evening with everyone. I leave Tuesday afternoon and fly back on Friday. I also get conference pay to be there. The only downside is that I have to work two twelve hour shifts Saturday and Sunday as soon as I return. But, that's not so bad.

All in all, good times, I do believe.
