The Abyss.. an area otherwise known as 'Hell', goverened by Abyssal Lords.. Demons that have practical god-like power upon their own 'layer' of the Abyss.. regions they control with mere willpower. Each individual Layer is seemingly a baren wasteland of decay it seemed.. what trees dot the land appear to have died.. or are dying. The sky above is naught more than an inky blackness.. void of anything remotly resembling a star or moon.. and definitly nothing similar to the sun. The Nightmares roaming the sky nearly invisible, their ebon hide accented only by their fiery manes and ivory hoves.. Each of which now aware of the intruder upon their master's home.
The intruder, a man of 5'10" and a not quite musculine build.. His lavender coloured hair, shoulder length and neatly combed away from his face sways gently in a light breeze.. brushing against the studded collar upon his neck and his crimson, collared longsleeve shirt. His left arm rested upon a seemingly plain looking katana, tucked neatly within the belt of his charcoal pants. Opposite the blade resting in his belt, also rested two shining feathers.. one scarlet, one golden.. Pheonix feathers. Beside the feathers hung what seemed to be a clear flute.. perhaps crafted of glass or crystal? . . though.. had there been one to look closely upon this flute, it would almost seem to ripple as it tapped the man's leg.. Odd, that. However, such a small thing as that is trivial to all else about this man.. 'Cross his back held translucent shimmering wings of the faerie kindred, cyan in colour.. small veins easily spotted within. Cresting his forehead was a semi-large sapphire jewel, the bottom-most tip reaching just above the place between his light-purple eyebrows..
The wings place this man as one of the faerie kindred.. but why would such a being appear within the Abyss? By his appearance.. one would not readily guess this to be more than a simple faye.. however.. this was no normal faerie.. His pupiless, silver eyes held a strange glow.. the soft glow of each iris seeming to wax and wan like the waves of the evening tide.. his gaze ever transfixed upon a mere 'nothingness' within the abyssal region that spanned farther than even this faye could possible see.. a smirk easily noticed upon his features.
The vast nothingness was not part of the Abyss.. or at least.. it hadnt been untill two months previous. But what could have happened to have caused such a change in a realm that has been in existance for eons?... A bitter laughter echoed coldly over the plains.. directed toward the faye..
"Who dares intrude upon my layer?.. Hmph.. matters not.. Die!"
The faye tore his gaze from the void and cast it toward the castle of the abyssal lord who's layer he had stepped foot upon.. the smirk ever-present upon his features. His feet spread only to shoulder length, the bottoms of his Geta (japanese wooden sandals) digging softly into the infertile soil.. He cared naught that the ground below his feet could easily be used against him.. not that he needed to stand upon the ground.
His left arm still drapped across the hilt of his blade.. his right arm hanging at his side, seemingly at ease as he watched hoards of demonic beasts of this abyss lord's army pour fourth.. ready to tear the faye to shreds. These were unlike the Death Knights that Devarius had prefered.. and most definitly nothing similar to the kitsune raptor beasts Lady Kazzara controlled. These beasts clearly resembled the likeness of Balrogs with their leathery wings and ruby tonned skins.. very much so in the fact that they stood an easy fifteen feet taller than the faye..
The lavender haired faye merely grinned at his 'welcoming comittee'.. Over-confidence they say, leads to a quick death.. Reguardless the faye simply pulled the katana from it's sheath and retained his passive stance with the tip of his katana aimed to the ground at his feet.. the pale-silver runes etched into it's edge emitting only a soft glow as the man finally spoke aloud to the small group of Balrog..
"Come if you dare.. I do not fear the flame.."
That said.. the faye takes the hilt of his blade in both hands and dashes toward the squad of balrog.. his movements barely more than a blurred afterimage... the runes of his katana now glowing a deep blue shade.. the jewel upon his forehead seeming to contain a glowing whirlpool as the faye channeled his water magics through his sword.
The balrogs, armed with little more than dual-greatswords and flame whips, were more than happy to meet this suicidal opponent in a headlong charge.. only to suddenly be thrust into knowing the true meaning of terror.. When the faye had said he held no fear of flame.. he meant it..
The lavender haired faye had surrounded himself in what seemed a layer of water.. easily becoming rather.. impervious to flame.. and with the bulky muscles and heavy blades the demon's weilded, the faye could easily evade anything they threw at him. The first balrog on the other hand.. did not get the chance to taste fear.. and it was quickly dispatched by a vertical slash of the katana, which also sent out a crecent wave of water.. simply making the slash that much more effective in cutting the demon in twain.
Strength though they had.. the balrog force couldnt manage to land more than a glancing blow to the faye.. and each as dispatched more painfully than the last.. and final balrog shown no quarter as he demonstrated just how powerful his control of the water element was.. Demons though they were.. and dispite their affinity to flame.. their bodys still held water.. as most humanoid beasts do.. on the other hand.. extracting the body water slowly from a living creature... demon or not.. is a most horrendous act..
Again, a bitter laugh filled the plains.. only this time.. it was that of the faye.. knowing full well that the abyssal lord would soon attempt to strip his power over water from him.. but.. how do you drop the control of one who is nearly as strong as the spirit of water itself? Again the booming voice of the Abyssal lord sounded..
"What trickery is this?? A mere mortal killed twenty of my Balrog?? DIE AND BEGONE!"
The entirty of the layer began to writhe.. stretching out toward the faye with razor-like 'fingers'... The faye's wings fluttered quickly, almost appearing invisible as the man was lifted into the air.. well away from the threat that beaconed his life.. Once more, the faye would speak..
"Aye.. a mere Faerie was able to slay twenty Balrog without trouble.. I was simply here to look upon my... 'handiwork' shall we say?" with that, he pointed toward the void that had once been several layers of the Abyss not two months prior.. Faerie magic it seemed.. did not agree with a realm created of absolute chaos and disorder.. Once final time the demon lord's voice boomed...
"YOU!? You destroyed those layers? HAHAHA! I highly doubt that."
The faye's lips still retained the smirk.. feeling a tug upon his ability to control water.. his que to vacate the premisis.. Starting around his feet.. a swirl of water sprung into existance.. quickly spiralling up, wrapping and concealing his body.. leaving only his pupiless, silver orbs uncovered for a small moment as he spoke.. "Then explain the twenty Balrog.." The water finished surrounding the faye, and seemed to close inward, as though nothing more than a disapating waterfunnle.. leaving nothing behind as it vanished.. not even traceable lines of magic as it carried the faye out of the Abyss..
