After a week of visiting family in PA, I'm back on the train for good.

It's a strange feeling to know that my car is so far away, and that I'll have to rely on public tranny and the circus bus to get around. And family and friends...long distance relationships only :(
It's also strange living in a room the size of a practice room. Lol.

Mom and Aunt N drove me to the airport this morning around 5am. Urgh. It was a propeller plane (never been on one!) and the flight attendant was pretty cool, she sat across from me and we talked the whole way. Then I got to hang out at Newark for like 2 hours, thrilling let me tell you.

Got to D.C. and Brett (the conductor) was waiting for me. He had the music AND his trombone for me to use! Fabulous!

First thing's first, I got to the room and redid the chairs :D

After that excitement, ran through the first act with the recording. Man, it was frustrating! There are cues happening in the recording, and of course I can't see 'em coming. Kind of pooped out before the second act. Ate dinner, chatted with the neighbors. Luckily we have a rehearsal/sound check tomorrow, that ought to be helpful.

The train is in a crummy part of Fairfax right now; the internet is slow and the nearest bus station is in a rough part of town.
I gotta make friends to hang out with!

I'm excited and nervous about tomorrow's show. There won't be pics of the actual show until I get used to the gig.

life, rb3c
