Console Evolution
Upcoming Console Stuff:
So far, I'm seriously disliking the possible appearances for the Playstation 4, especially its weird possible boomerang controller, and am suspicious that it'll be $500+ for a loooong time. After all, the PS3 cost something like that when it first came out. Tell me some great features, Sony. Tell me there'll be Final Fantasies and they won't be online games. Square Enix and you used to be BFFs. Talk nerdy to me. :I
If it's backwards compatible and they can make a cost estimation soon-ish, I'll probably cave and start hording money for it. Bluh.
I... don't like the rounded-off corners for the Sony Vita (PSP successor), so I'm on the fence about it. I'm kind of shallow, I guess. Also, hopefully it will amass some good RPGs like the PSP did or I'll probably stay away from it. That's more or less what happened with the PS3, which is why I still don't have one. It's been out for years and I've only preemptively collected two games for it.
It does have the dual control sticks like the regular PS controller, though, which is a huge plus and will probably make a lot of people buy it.
The Wii U is amazingly cool, and I'm loving the possibilities, especially regarding the "play on the controller when someone else is hogging the TV" option. I'm really excited for that. *u* It's going to be an HD console, too, which is a big step for Nintendo. I hope this means the game lineup will be really good as a result.

The 3DS is dropping in price down to $170 (from $250) as of August 12th, so if you've been saving/waiting/hesitant, this is your shining chance to get it. With a price like that, I think I'm probably going to go for it. If you were one of the people who bought it at launch and paid the higher price, Nintendo is offering you a bunch of free virtual console downloads, so I think we all win here, unless you loath old games for some reason.
Oh, and here is an official English TotA 3DS trailer I bumped into. It's slightly awful, but at least it's advertising.
