Hey, there are even writing memes!
What's the last thing you wrote?
- Uh... A little drabble about Sync being mean. It's kind of pathetic that it's the last thing I wrote. X'D
Was it any good?
- It was alright, given the length I made it. I stole the idea from something
noirrac drew.
What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
- I have no idea. I bet I have duotangs from Grade 1 somewhere.
Write poetry?
- Only when I have to (read: when it's a school assignment).
Angsty poetry?
- Only humorous poetry. C:
Most fun character you ever wrote?
- Of my own? Of someone else's? Out of any? Well, out of my own, it kind of fluctuates. I tend to like writing for Adel because he's the entertaining jerk who doesn't know how to do anything for himself, but writing language mauls for Tide is fun, and Ryan's dialogue is easy. Out of fanfiction stuff... IDK. :C
Most annoying character you ever wrote?
- I was considering doing more TotA fanfiction, but I hate Mieu... So Mieu? Even if I didn't actually write it yet?
Best plot you ever wrote?
- I have no idea. Plots are a giant weakness for me. :C
Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
- That the main character will fail at life forever?
How often do you get writer's block?
- When I actually feel like writing, almost never. I have to want to write.
How do you fix it?
- By giving in and not writing. I'd rather postpone the work than turn out really awful content.
Do you type or write by hand?
- Type. I notice the quality of my wording deteriorates as my pencil hand gets tired, but that doesn't happen with a keyboard. Plus, I don't get lead everywhere. (Lefty, yo.)
Do you save everything you write?
- Nope.
Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
- I'm not sure it's ever happened to me. I do tend to leave multi-chaptered fanfiction hanging, if that counts, so I've stopped starting it. Tough break, Sonic fans.
What's your favourite thing that you've written?
- Various little bits of brotherliness.
What's everyone else's favourite thing that you've written?
- Just about no one has ever read my original fiction, so I'll have to pick out of my fanfics... Everyone seems to give me good feedback on the last line of "This Much".
Do you ever show people your work?
- Only those who are interested.
Who's your favourite constructive critic?
- I really enjoyed the help I got from Tavreynya on FanFiction.net. She read over the first chapter of my original fiction and nitpicked out all my hideous errors. C:
Did you ever write a novel?
- The first two and one eighth chapters. 8D
Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
- Fantasy, as much as I loathe admitting it. I started a horror fanfic once for some reason I'm still not sure of, but the mood left me and it never actually got to the gore.
Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
- YES. UGH. I STILL TRY TO DENY IT.
That fanfiction doesn't exist. It doesn't.
What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
- Never written? Huh... I think I've dabbled in them all, just about. Oh, I know. lolsex.
How many writing projects are you working on right now?
- Uh... Dragon. That's about it. I do little FMA oneshots from time to time, too, but I wouldn't call that a "project".
Do you want to write for a living?
- Well, no. I'd get tired of it. I couldn't do something artistic as my sole source of income. It would eventually become a chore; something I -had- to do.
Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
- An anthology twice when I was in elementary school.
Have you ever won an award for your writing?
- T...wice? I think...
Ever written something in script or play format?
- A couple of times.
What is your favourite word?
- In writing? What kind of word? Noun? Adjective? I like... "replicate" (lol TotA), "murmur", others I can't remember right now...
Do you ever write based on yourself?
- No.
Which of your characters most resembles you?
- Physically, or personality-wise? Physically, Drake. Dark hair, dark eyes, French descent, short. Personality-wise, I'm most like Tide. He gets the obnoxiousness from me. D:
Where do you get ideas for your characters?
- Balance. I feel the need to have a balanced set of characters, so I make them based on need.
Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
- Depends on the story.
Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?
- Yes, once that I know of for sure.
noirrac did this picture of Sync saying, "Why did you kill me, Anise?" and it was absolutely perfect. He should have said that in the game! Ugh. Well, anyway, I wrote the scene out to make up for its unacceptable lack of existence.
I'm pretty sure she'd be creeped out by now if she read this meme, but honestly-- you jerks kept asking about stuff that pertains to this fanfiction. WTF. DDDDDDDDDDD:
Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
- Yes. With dialogue, grammar is less important because nearly all of my characters are unschooled. Only Adel needs to be perfect.
Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?
- Not even when I was a n00b, thank god.
Does music help you write?
- Often.
Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
- Not really... I'm sort of the English nerd type, so they kind of expect it.
Quote something you've written.
- Let me go look.
(Original)
"It's very green," she said, eying the long coat tails and the large treble clef embroidered onto the center of his back.
"I know! Isn't it?" He seemed delighted with the idea.
(Final Fantasy XII Drabble)
"And where is Drace this day?" he queries, to which the Magister makes a face Larsa cannot begin to describe nor understand. "She, too--"
"--Has passed," Gabranth finishes, and lowers his head solemnly.
(TotA Drabble I've mentioned ten thousand times in this meme. This is the whole thing, though.)
He is dark above her, the sun at his back, his face twisted in a smile Ion would never have made. Sand blows around their ankles. Hot desert breezes push through her hair, and through his. Luke and the others are close behind her, but somehow everything has melted away except for Sync. How... how dare he use that voice. She knows better now than ever before that Sync and Ion are not the same. They are not even close.
Sync leans toward her a little, smiling almost maliciously. When he speaks, it is so no one but Anise can hear him. He's going to make her squirm.
"Why did you kill me, Anise?" he asks, feigning Ion's sweetness. Anise freezes again and her face pales. She can't ignore him when he sounds like that. She wants to throw up. She wants to scream. She wants to put up her tough front, push him away and leave with her friends.
She can't do it. She can't ignore that voice.
