Make A Splash~

One moment, that spot is completely empty, and the next a rather large boulder seems to just snap into existence. What might draw the eye of any spectator however, is not the boulder itself, but rather the form perched directly on top of it. His pale is skin bare to the waist, adorned only by a gleaming platinum necklace, the ring that serves as ( Read more... )

Fresh food.

*The answer comes from a tall woman Namor might remember, who looks him over with a touch of wry amusement and more than a touch of appraisal.*

Turning his attention to the familiar woman, he smiles to himself, shaking his head with amusement. It figures that Samus would be here still.

"A scarce commodity where you come from?"

*She is, if nothing else, a survivor. Lives end and worlds burn, but the bitchy blond is a universal constant.*

I grew up planetside; it wasn't until I went up that I spent any long span on ships and stations. If you're eating on a budget, most of what you can get is ration bars, reconstituted protein, and vat-grown kelp. It makes you realize how precious those plumquats really were.

He'd never found her particularly bitchy. Tough? Yes. Harsh? Yes. But he'd usually found her advice sound, and she had that same habit that Ali had. She was usually right.

"Artificial food?" The thought had never occurred to him. Most of the food he'd ever eaten had been natural. What must it have been like to eat artificial food all the time? "I can see how that could put things into perspective."

A pause. "Hello Samus."

*There's no shortage of people in the universe who will always find an opinionated, strong-willed woman to be bitchy, whether she's right or not.*

Or processed past recognition, yes, to save on space and mass dedicated to preservation.

*A hint of her lopsided smirk tugs at her lips.*

Namor. It's been a while.

Namor's never thought of her in that light however. At the very least, she taught him about the art of conversation.

"Doesn't sound particularly appetizing. I can see how that would make a person appreciate real food."

He grins back at her.

"Sure has. You've been keeping busy, I assume?"

*She chuckles, shaking her head.*

It isn't. Congratulations, you've learned enough to never need to eat any.

*She answers his question with a slight nod.*

In the usual way. You?

He laughs.

"Well, if my people ever achieve space travel, I'm sure it would come in handy. Until then, I bear that in mind."

His reply begins with a short shrug.

"You know, running the kingdom. Not all it's cracked up to be, really."

Space travel is even more of a hassle for you water-breathing types. When mass is a worry, water is heavy.

*She chuckles, giving a slight shake of her head.*

Politics. I should've warned you.

"Thankfully, it isn't high on our list of priorities. We have a lot more advancement to achieve before that's even an option, either way."

He smirks, shrugging just a little.

"I managed to muddle through."

Well, that's no bad thing. I've seen some fairly ugly things come from societies trying to push for technological development too quickly.

*She raises a brow, half-quirking a smile again.*

Did you? Do tell.
