Six or so foot of scuffed blue bot looks up from where he's playing with a handheld game controller nearby. "...Attack dem first?"

That was how I encountered her, he admits. He's not embarrassed about that, slaughter and conquest is his job, but...

Rumble frowns a bit. "Maybe yous better start from da top, so I know what yous is talkin' about."

He gives a 'hnnn' that comes out as a dark rumble. I met a lost relative while I was capturing another castle. Her husband's castle.

"Ohhhh. And dat's kinda rude where yous come from, huh?" Rumble bows his head slightly and thinks. "Well... do yous care if she's mad at yous?"

He shrugs. It probably is rude, but so much the better. She's no-one to me. But... this has never happened before. And it seems like something there should be a protocol for.

Rumble shrugs. "Say oops, 'n den see what yous kin gank."

Overlords don't apologise. The glow of his eyes deepens with fierce amusement. And now I own it all.

"Oops ain't apologizin'," says Rumble stoutly. Then he winces and shifts a little on his seat as he adds. "Sounds like yous all done dere. Nothin' else ta do."

Not now. I think I should have... said something at the time.

"No use worryin' about it now." The little mech grins, the expression slightly wan as he realizes that he'll have to comm for help getting up after he's done talking to this guy.

No. I suppose it can't happen again. How many runaway mothers is he ever going to run into? Might as well be philosophical about it.

"It really matter if it does?"

I still don't know the correct response. So yes, it might.

"Well, if yous don't wanna keep 'em, 'n yous don't like 'em, I'd just go with 'haha, losers, wanna play again?'" The small bot (his mun got the height wrong, he's actually shorter than the Overlord) shifts again. "Or somethin' like dat."
