*Kickback's back in the nexus after his rather long absence and stretched out  on one of the nexus couches; happily taking up most of the room.  He looks a little troubled; the reason for this?  Simple his team mate has had yet another potentially dangerous idea that he can't stop going on about it.  Whomever said having a mad scientist on the team

"Well...." Ratchet hoves into sight, Bumblebee at his side. "I'd tell Bombshell no. But the pet idea could be a good one, if you find the right thing. Has she gotten tired of the little Seeker already? Or she doesn't think of him as a pet?"

Yes, Ratchet's used to the common 'Con mindset that says 'anything weaker than me that I like is my pet'.

"Don't you have a Pokemon?" asks Bumblebee, his browplates quirked quizzically at Kickback.

*Kickback regards the autobot medic curiously for a brief moment* Yeah letting Bombshell play with anything remotely related to genetics is probably not a good idea. *he growls a little at that* No; we don't view Sundog as a pet. *Kickback has somewhere along the way developed paternal instincts it seems*

*Kickback's been on the receiving end of that often enough to be fed up of it. It's part of the reason why the insecticons are pretty much autonomous*

Yeah; but Mits is a little small for Katy to really play with... I was thinking something that's not quite as delicate.

The growl gets an approving grin. "Good. Tell the little guy that one of his alternates is making a mint off a computer game he made."

Then Ratchet looks thoughtful. "Have you seen that thing Mornbein's got? Wait, you know who Mornbein is, right?"

*Which is a little shocking to Kickback; but he masks it well* Sure; he'll probably be delighted *and bug Shrapnel about it for a while until he gets tired*

Crazy nutcase who hangs around the water fanatic DUKW? *yes he's met Towby through Movor*

"If he's anything like his alternates? You bet he will." Ratchet grins more, then looks at his shoulder as an oddly coloured falcon settles on it. "Hi, Ember."

Kickback's words about Mornbein make him chuckle. "She's a lot more than that. But I was just wondering because she's got a pet Tyranid hive tyrant."

"Named Fred," adds Bumblebee, grinning.

*Kickback grins* Yeah Shrap will probably get an audio-full from the little guy. *He only really spares the falcon and interested glance; he's well aware of what an oddly coloured falcon can mean*

*Kickback tilts his head to the side in askance* What's that? *because unlike Baneblade and Towby; Kickback has yet to meet Fred.*

As Ratchet explains about the friendly hive tyrant two more off colour falcons swoop in, one landing on a couch, and the other settling familiarly onto Kickback's shoulder with a little kricking sound as she looks up at him with bright, intelligent blue eyes.

Yes, these are Sundog's little brothers and sister. Ember and Hotspot, and their sister Firebreak. They're only bird, but they know who Kickback is.

*Kickback nods* Now that is interesting; not too sure I'd give one to Katy though... *yeah he's protective* don't they need some sort of physic connection or something?

*He smiles fondly at the birds and gives the one on his shoulder and gentle stroke* Hey there *he doesn't care if they're only birds; Kickback likes them well enough*

"Yes. I think he'd have a hard time in your swamp, too. But there are plenty of other options. Like that one pet store in the Nexus mall that sells robotic pets. And a friend of mine makes pets out of living gemstone." Ratchet pauses and chuckles as Firebreak makes a soft sound and turns her head so that it can be stroked more easily. "I'm glad these guys have friends."

Ember nods his head, keeking softly in agreement. He likes his friends too.

Yeah; I know. Not exactly the best place for a pet. *swamps are tricky things; which is probably why Kickback loves it so much* Gemstones? *he blinks* What are they like? *because he is really curious*

*He chuckles a little and obliges Firebreak enjoying petting her* I might be a total &*@"$ at times; but I am protective of those I like. *he replies to Ratchet (the nexus happily beeping out his curse)

A lot like organic animals, except that they don't need to eat, and they're really hard to hurt. He mostly makes little ones, but I think he'd be able to make one the right size for your little femme."

"Some have coloured lights him them," notes Bumblebee as he grins and lets Hotspot nibble his finger.

Hmm perhaps I should bring her along and see what she thinks. But it's a good idea; so long as it's strong enough to withstand us and we don't accidentally eat it. *Though the last part is spoken with a grin implying it as a joke*

...lights? *that sounds weird even to him and he's seen Bombshell build some pretty weird things.*

Ratchet chuckles at the joke, then nods his head. "Yeah, his little boy has a snail with a shell that's got lights in it that change colour, something like those old fiber optic Christmas trees used to do."

...*Kickback remembers his last encounter with a fibre optic Christmas tree and actually lets out something akin to a GIGGLE...Kickback the fearsome insection warrior; heartless interrogator and manipulator actually giggles*

*he stops as quickly as he starts and speaks* Oh; a snail...that's nice.

"Hey, when you're a two year old human something sparkly that you can gnaw on is all that." Ratchet grins.

*Kickback just grins back* I think that's also applicable to chibis...and other crazy people I know.
