"Sundog, wait!" A small pink femme flashes into sight as she pursues a yellow and green Seeker who is the same size as herself. "You don't need to be scared, Shrapnel was just being grumpy

*Kickback's sitting on a couch reading quietly; before being alerted to the two kids and Sundog's fright. Quickly moving over he gently pulls the small seeker over to him in a hug. Keeping his hold light so the seeker doesn't feel trapped and knows he can pull away any time he wants.*
Because they're stupid and don't have a filter between their CPU's and their Vocalisers. *Kickback replies softly antennae twitching a little. He doesn't mind if the youngling cries. Looking over to Katydid he asks*
Want to tell me what happened?
*true he'd been a little stressed himself recently taking a short break in the Nexus to clear his mind; but he wasn't going to yell at them.*
"Shrapnel was helping Bombshell with something big from that newest thing Bombshell's making, and Sundog and I were tidying up. Sundog dropped something and made Shrapnel jump, and Shrapnel...."
Her antennae go back as the little Seeker leans against Kickback and hides his face against him. "Shrapnel called him a mis-sparked idiot and told him to get out of his sight."
*Looking at the seeker Kickback frowns gesturing to Katydid to follow, before picking Sundog up gently and moving over to the couch he'd been occupying previously and sitting down on it. Putting his feet up he settles against the back of the couch and cuddles the small seeker. Opening the other arm to allow Katydid to cuddle up too* Shrapnel had no right to say that.
Now...hear this. You are NOT a mis-sparked idiot and anyone who says otherwise is trying to hide their own problems. You may be a little weaker than others; but in time you'll grow stronger and you WILL be a force to be reckoned with.
Shrapnel's just a jumpy idiot who needs to think about what he says before he says it. Don't pay any attention to it; I am your guardian and you already know what I think.
Sundog shivers as Katydid curls up against Kickback's other side, reminded of his creator by the gentle treatment that the Insecticon is giving him. Longing for Skywarp squashes the little Seeker's pride, and suddenly he is crying silently, his face still hidden against his mentor.
Katydid sees this and makes a soft sound as she reaches over to gently touch her friend's helm.
"Shrapnel won't even stay mad," she says softly. "Right, Kickback?"
"...Sundog?" The sleepy, exhausted mumble comes from one of the couches. Daimon finally sits up, eyes sunken and hair askew, and looks around.
Is that him? Cute little guy...glad I ran across him, because with the mess we're going through I haven't had time to search...
"It's...because the more angry or sad or emotional people get, the harder it is for them to think about what they're saying. That's why we say things we regret later when we get mad."
The little Seeker starts from where he's cuddled against Kickback, and lifts his head to see who's saying his name. That it's an organic person has his ruby optics going wide with amazement that makes him forget his tears.
"Things have been a little weird lately," confirms Katydid softly from where she's cuddling on Kickback's other side. "...But how do you know my friend's name?"
"I..." Daimon sighed, blinking sleep from his eyes as he sat up further. "That's kind of a long story. But to try and shorten it...I know of a couple of people who are kind of desperate to see him again."
And, as chance would have it, there's a Morph Moth out scrounging for recyclables to munch on.
"I don't know... Sometimes people say things when they're upset, and then they're sorry they said them later, but I still don't know why they'd say something if they didn't mean it somehow."
Morph thinks about that, and then nods. "I've said things when I was scared sometimes that I felt sorry about later. That's kind of similar, even if it's not the same."
