Enter one turtle. Well, it kind of looks like a turtle. It's a bit hard to tell, with it being practically buried under the trench coat, thick scarf, and fedora. The tails of a purple bandana peaking out from beneath the hat and wooden staff strapped to the back reveals this to be the ninja turtle Donatello. A Donatello that has not been here for ( Read more... )

"You can? Thanks! Just let me know how much it costs so I can pay you back."

Dreadnought shrugs. "I've got a pile of the stupid things sittin' in my livin' room. Crazy little construction bots got carried away after one of 'em got icicles in his works."

"Well, they must be worth something..."

"Huh... re-gifting? Not too sure it would count as that." There's a rather effeminate guy in baggy clothing hanging around.
"I'm sure there's a few shops set up aroun here somewhere that might have a heater..."

"I'm sure there are, too, but finding them would require me having to move around, and I'm still thawing out." Donnie gives the guy a half of a grin to show that he's not completely serious.

"Well, if you stay put, you'll avoid LOLs, at the very least," he says, joking a little himself.

Owen's always a little more at ease when he sees someone like himself around, and he looks a little more at ease than usual. He rubs his chin as he ponders the first part of the question. "If you had no other sources, I could acquire one. A friend of mine owns a... well, you couldn't call it a junkyard, but perhaps a store dealing in well loved appliances? I suspect he's got one lying around."

"I wouldn't think using a gift card would really be regifting. Some people might get a high out of giving something to others." He shakes his head. "Then again, one of our traditions in the Rez is to give something that has meaning to you to your closest friends."

Owen might feel more at ease, but Donnie is always somewhat surprised to see a fellow anthropomorphic animal. So the few seconds it takes for his brain to catch up and process what Owen says are completely justified. Completely.

"That... sounds perfect, actually. Do you know how much it'll cost? And what other stuff does he have there, do you know?" Donnie. Old appliances. It's like iron filings to a magnet, the attractive force is so strong.

((Whee holidays. Sorry about the delay...))

Owen taps his chin with one finger. He barely noticed Donnie's delay, and would probably chalk it up to his own supposed infamy, anyway.

"Dex owes me a favor or twelve, so I could probably snag it for free. As for other stuff... I'm not sure what he doesn't have. It's a big warehouse, and he's always out and about, salvaging from the old buildings in the Rez. Some of it's barely worth anything, but there's other swag that just needs a good cleaning."

Hmm.. have you access to the internet? There is a place called Freecycle.com wherein you can trade items with others. Similar website like this can be found too with the proper searches. *nods* *smiles*

*ponders the definition of "re-gifting", since a similar discussion about this with Spike and Carly came up in his presence - he only knows that regifting is the worse when it ends up going back to the person who gave it*

However, is a gift card not just a different way to give a person money? Spefically, money that could only be spend in a select store? If you are buying a gift with the money, and not another gift card for the same store, I don't see how this could be thought of as re-gifting.

*is starting to get puzzled a little more by human gift-giving customs now*
