"I have always been in favor of trying to analyze a particular structure before taking any action. Understanding how it works, what elements might be worth retaining, and how best to eliminate those that do not with minimal risk." The Cybertronian rubs the chinguard on his helm. "In terms of a universe, I am not sure you would have that kind of time. Perhaps sending a trusted subordinate to discretely gather information in a timely manner? That way, you could determine who would be worth retaining."

Oh the information has been gathered, analysed and looked at every which way possible.

The problem is that none of the three broad categories particularly stands out from the others in terms of cost benefit analysis. All have their very nice upsides and all have some nasty downsides.

"All living beings are resistant to change, and quite often will throw some sort of wrench into things when confronted by it. All things being equal, I would tend to think retaining those who might be useful would be the most sound course of action. Of course, for the same reasons, you might watch them carefully. You never know when they might choose to turn against you."

Longarm pauses, once more considering the issue at hand. "However, this advice is coming from, at best, the planetary level. Universal hierarchy may be arranged differently. Would changing the playing field entirely, while appointing a figurehead to deflect threats against yourself, be a possible course of action?" Longarm Prime advocating deceit? What a novel idea.

The problem that I have is that while they have their uses, the potential pool of candidates has some serious fundamental flaws to their nature. Specifically they're evil, stupid or dead on a very fundamental level.

I mean Tzeeneetch is their God of Hope and he's evil! That should give you some idea what I've got to work with here.

And as for the figure head... that's not only possible that's my standing operating procedure. I rule over four entire universes and I can count the mortals that know of me on two of your hands. And several of them have incorrect or fragmentary knowledge as well. I mostly work through subordinates specifically created for the task and the universe they occupy.
