"That ended up being more of an appetizer." Chiron returns the grin with a slight chuckle.

"Revenge... can consume you like a fire, no matter how cold you serve it," Carth sighed heavily. "Best to work instead on righting wrongs that still affect you. Looking to improve the now instead of the past. Otherwise it's easy to loose your future in the struggle."

He nods. "I agree for the most part. However, once the present is all fixed up, wouldn't you go for revenge then?"

"Possibly. By chance I managed to get my revenge while completing the mission, but now... I don't know. It wasn't as sweet as I'd always imagined. In fact it probably messed me up worse for a while. But every situation isn't like mine. Just be prepared in case it backfires."

"It didn't. Something may still happen, because I'm now very high profile, but the actual revenge is over and done with."

I'd say so, although not for any virtue that waiting itself adds. Generally, when one wants revenge, one isn't in a position to get it right away. A worthwhile revenge needs planning.

"Of course. Rushing into things usually only ends with you worse off than before."

"As you've said, a good revenge needs planning, especially when the person you're getting revenge against may have gotten stronger since the last time you met."

"Revenge will ruin your life. Be sure that it ruins your enemy's life first."

He raises an eyebrow. "Only if you let it consume you."

"Well, it's bloody easy for that to happen."

He sighs. "Yes, yes it is. It almost took my life on more than one occasion, but I pulled it off."

Otherwise it doesn't really matter much to me whether it's hot or cold I'll live long enough to see it done eventually.
