Hmm... how'd he manage that? "Yeah, it's much more than that... It's some kind of... pocket dimension linked to the multiverse." A pause. "You figured out how those work?"

"No way!" The kid at Christmas look intensifies, then turns to a blink. "Uh, yup. I don't know what all the parts in these two are called, but I figured out what they do." He holds up the PINpoint and co-ordinate finder, then yelps softly and fumbles to catch one as it falls from his hand.

"Way. I didn't believe it at first, myself." She gives the devices a thoughtful look, interested in how they do what they do. As he suddenly drops one and fumble, she blinks, and will try to catch it if he doesn't.

He's got it, and is now sticking everything but the cellphone into his cargo pockets. The phone goes back where he found it.

"Nope."

"It appears that we have been brought here from all over the multiverse. I'm not sure why." My. Croup attempts a winning smile. It's horrific. "My name is Mr. Croup, and this is Mr. Vandemar. Pleased to meet you."

"I'm Fred Sarcowsky..." He breaks off and blinks. Then blinks again. "Wait... the Old Firm?"

((he's more the Batman and Startrek sort. But he's got nerdy friends who I think must have read Gaiman's books and geeked about them at some point. lol))

"The Old Firm indeed. You know of us?"

"I've heard of you," says Fred slowly. "One of my friends has read about you in... uh, a local publication."

"Dude, it would make an awesome con. If it were one, but it's not. So you'd be right."

The guy answering is perched easily on the back of a nearby couch, and might be more than a little familiar to anyone passingly familiar with the Kingdom Hearts series. The coat (black and hooded with silver pull-chains) is no doubt a large factor in that.

"Somebody said it's a multiversal Nexus." Fred grins at him, but shows no recognition. Kingdom Hearts is one thing this nerd's never run across. "And I just met some guys that are comic book characters where I come from."

"Dude's right, whoever they were. Anyone from anywhere can show up here."

"The dude was a girl." Fred blinks as he realizes that he's got no idea where that girl went. "Uh... whoops. And I think I might have nerded her out."

"Nope. Although the place would probably be a hit with people who want to go bother everybody that's fictional back in their worlds while we get all cranky at them if they overdo it."

Ed's leaning casually against a wall with his bronze firelizard on his shoulder.

"Heh, I bet." Fred finishes giving his glasses a quick but careful polish and puts them back on. Then gasps with delight.

"Hey! A dragon!"

"He's a firelizard, actually. Although sometimes there are actual dragons around."

He reaches up to scritch an eyeridge and Maes' eyes whirl in happy shades of green and he croons in pleasure.

"Firelizard.... I've heard that name before, but can't remember where. Probably from Bob and Larry." Fred frowns as he sifts through data in his brain to try and find what he wants. It's easier when it's computer or robot related.

"No, it's not," says Gate, not yet aware this might be a bad time for him to be in the main part of the Nexus and in armor that would hake him recognizable to anyone who's played MMX6. But then, no one's told him about the video games yet...

Fred grins at him, glasses slightly lopsided. "No, it's a multiversal Nexus. This is like nerd central, man."
