Hey look, it's a new version of Samus Aran! But wait a sec, the armor isn't right. It seems far less bulky for one. More of a stealth-aid than a mobile weapons/armor platform. And the weapons don't seems to be built in as the figure carries them on her back. In a moment, the blue rings in her helmet power down and the seam around her neck hisses ( Read more... )

It's raining six foot three, armor-clad women, and Hank Henshaw is growing suspicious. Really, all within the vicinity of his chair? He aught to feel special. "Let's see. I decided to let myself enjoy life a little bit."

She runs a hand through her hair, pulling out the tie that kept it manageable within her helmet. "And how's that worked out for you so far?"

A slight motion with his metal hand followed closely by, "I suppose I'm enjoying it. Until it all falls apart."

"So you're expecting it to fall apart, then?" She raises a brow.

He looks for an answer momentarily. "Few things will last as long as me. And yourself?"

"In this place? I find that rather hard to believe." Her tone is pleasant though. "Me? I wouldn't say it's anyting major. Merely put myself under new management."

"This space between dimensions, it is more pleasant than other ones I have had the misfortune of knowing. But I do not call it home." He adjusts his glasses. Even if you watch closely, it's a mystery exactly where they come from and go when he's not fiddling with them. He doesn't address the fact he could conceivably outlive the Nexus. "Are you a mercenary? That's a lovely shade of technology you're wearing."

Hank Henshaw likes technology. And women.

"I see. That wouls explain some of it, I suppose." She pulls her own glasses from a compartment in her suit, setting them on her nose.

"Something like that. Though I do prefer the term, soldier of fortune." She smiles. "One of the perks of the job."

Though he does not smile, his face lightens. "Have you ever met your match, my dear?"

She chuckles. "My match in what?"

He gives her a sort of confident sum-up that betrays his words. "I assure you I meant connect four. But nevermind that."

Truly, by human standards the Cyborg is just shy of hulking. He stands for the first time, extending his alloy mitt. "I think your latest decision was a good one..."

She smirks in return, easily catching his look. "In that case, I'd have to say no, I haven't."

She takes the offered hand, shaking firmly. "I like to think most of my decisions are."

Hank strokes his chin, examining her armored hand and arm for a moment. "It seems to have had a wonderful effect on your temperment, my dear. I'm Hank Henshaw, but the press calls me the Cyborg Superman."

"I do try to be agreeable." She pushes her hair out of her eyes. "My friends call me Nova. The Underground call me 'her.'"

"Whyever why, sweetheart?" He smiles evilly. "Perhaps you aren't as agreeable with them."

She smirks. "It wouldn't do to make a nasty first impression, now would it?"

That gets a wicked laugh. "You'd be right, there. A girl needs to keep up appearances of being a bloodthirsty mercenary, you know?"
